What on earth is this phrase meant to mean.It is contained in a tender document for the operation of the Dartford Tunnel and according to the Highways Agency means" future proofing administrative support of the charging and enforcement system so it could be expanded to meet any future need"

so thats cleared that up then.

Seems to be a complicated way of saying that they are going to increase the use of tolls on the roads or are they trying to hide that fact.Been rumoured they want to start charging to use the Blackwall tunnel.Anybody else know what either of these phrases mean

hindsight: the science that is never wrong

Exactly what you said, really - the ability to meet changes in demand administratively by throwing in more resource. And yes, it implies the intention to widen the use of tolls.

We're forced to utilise that particular dialect at work daily.

People would pay more willingly if they knew that ALL of the revenues, after operating charges, were going towards another crossing to ease the burden on the existing overcrowded ones..... as long as there were achievable plans in place to provide a new transit point and that all of the money wasn't going to be sucked into a namby pamby enquiry debating the future of some new insect colony which is of no merit to anyone.

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice.<br />

In practice, there is!

When I read the title of this thread in the motoring forum my first association was a story I read on the German Spiegel.de website: http://www.spiegel.d...r-a-866960.html

Police stopped a guy for speeding when they looked at the car he had installed a complete mobile office on the passenger seat. He also had two mobiles, a GPS and a nav unit fixed to the windscreen! :help:
