New idle control valve.

I want to replace the idle control valve on my gt3.

 

Can I use a vauxhaull part.

 

Anybody know what part  to order, TPS was vauxhaull Corsa.

Spotted the one on ebay it arrived yesterday, wil fit at  weekend.

 

Tick over RPM changes each time I start, tried resetting with freescan, ok for one or two runs then plays up again.

 

As the part is cheap though I would try it.

The idle speed setting in freescan is only temporary for that session, you could use it for diagnostics, but it will not stay at that rpm after the car is shut off.

 

There are other reasons that could cause the idle speed to change.  You could have an air leak in the manifold.  The IAC will change the idle speed on a cold start depending on the temperature.

 

Does your GT3 have the EBPV and throttle jack capsule?

Peugeot 405/ Citreon BX they come from. Ebay have loads on sale. I've found one for £14 but you need to cross reference the numbers

It's a bit odd as these were £35 odd quid a few years back and a Lotus one was about £40-45, so it wasn't worth buying the cheaper alternative.

Note:- Double check numbers match before ordering any parts.

I dont know if you solved the problem yet.

I have had the problem started last week. Poor idle, and drop in rpm, when give litle throthe when cold. When i drive the car and put it into free gear. The engine drop belov 1000 rpm, and stall.

 

It was my Throttle capsule Jack Pot, that the pin went lose, so it could keep engine idle if you put car in free gear. When running above 2000 rpm, when driving.

The Jack pot, have a damper function, so it will catch the intake valve, and make it close slower, to solve stalling when large drop in rpm. BUT very tricky adjust after fixing jack pot pin. I could fix my with Lockticte and press but vire cutter.

 

Check ifs Throttle Capsule works.
