A/C clutch in all the time, check light on and blinking code 26.

When I turn ignition on clutch throws in with no fans on, turn on a/c and fans cut in.

Reset ecu and drove with air con on no check light and runs purfect.

Disconnect a/c compressor and check light on.

All I have done is changed the battery.

If you remove the A/C request relay does that prevent the A/C clutch engaging?

Yes but it puts check light on code 26

What's the voltage at ecu pin J1/A12 when the A/C is off at the dash and the A/C clutch is engaged?

The dash switch works because it turns on the fans.

Simple things first, it looks like there is a short circuit which activates the AC Control (Clutch) relay causing also a code 26 error.

I would start looking at the wiring from to the relays towards the ECU.

Borrowed ecu today and problem gone, is there anything I can do with mine?

The car runs fine with the air con on but as soon as you disable it you get a code 26.

is there anyway I can disable the air con switch in the ecu wiring.

Have you tried unplugging the single wire that connects to the a/c compressor...its one spade terminal...

Then working your way backwards through the system to see which change etc has an effect..
