Engine bay sidewall seal

The parts manual mentions a foam seal being used on the RH side wall, but no reference to its size etc. (Only made from A036xxxxx which I can't find). The old one is desintegrated so no clue. Maybe someone can tell me if they used a new seal (dimensions?) or something else and why the LHS uses no seal? (Heat I presume).

If the LHS doesn't have a seal then the RHS can surely be mounted without a foam seal, the seam on both sides are sealed with sealant.

So I'm a little bit at a loss, if somebody can tell me there experiences / ideas I will be happy to hear / read them.

I don't remember a foam seal...  Though that was back in 2001...

 

I re bonded mine with black polyurethane adhesive (both sides).

It's a neoprene closed cell self adhesive foam strip, 3 mm x 25 mm x 750 mm.
