I was notified yesterday that mine should be ready towards the end of October maybe early November so that is most definitely something to look forward to, especially now as my Elise is sold so there is a Lotus sized space waiting to be filled in my garage :)

Looking as good as ever :-)

Aimee at Lotus Silverstone booked my factory tour for October 7th so hopefully will get to see my LF1 on the production line.

I have also found a mint M100 that I am going to look at over the next couple of days, its all Lotus. Lotus, Lotus at the moment :)

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi guys, here are first pics from #79 when I took her home.

Nice to see the great formed body from the inside.

For those who didn't saw any LF1 in real: The car is not really black. In the sun, you can sea golden flakes in the deep of the color.

A vid from my first trackday I linked to the video thread.

Enjoy your weekend.

The dash is all black leather, everywhere with gold stitching. I'll face time you tomorrow if you want with it (or similar) so you can have a look after I collect the thing - message me your details if you want.

Number 13 is in Italy .. signed on rear wing by F1 drivers

http://www.0-100.it/lotus-exige-lf1-lotus-monza-prezzo-maldonado-gros-jean-lotus-f1/

So was #25, being driven as it should!

Thanks Bibs, its more the dash i'd like to get a closer look at... I have heard on the grapevine that an LF1 exists in Cheltenham so if your lurking on here say hello I'm just down the road!

I will get in touch with him and see if he will help out on that front.

Congratulation Simon, look forward to seeing some pictures.

I actually think I like the idea of the interior carpet, may be worth thinking about for my LF1.

Remember you saw mine without the custom LF1 carpets, they actually look really good. I just don't like carpets in a track car and the double depth passenger footrest.

Did you say that the LF1 matts move around which obviously on the track wouldn't be a good idea, maybe with carpet that would be a better option?

No, I've never fitted them (and we have the double foot rest on the passenger so the passenger one won't fit anyway). They are sitting sealed in their original plastic bags from the factory.

I just don't like mats when driving. Carpets are permanent and just get worn and look crap (I like cars where they put an hard plastic or similar under the drivers heals).

The carpets on the Exige V6 also prevent the drivers seat going all the way forward, only 1 stop but it makes a difference.

All personal stuff :)

"add lightness"

Edit: A bit more with a picture to help:

IMG_9258_zps46560881.jpg

From memory the mats that come with it will cover the floor exactly, but will not cover the raised bits in front of the seats or the sides. Complicated here by the double foot rest, so the mat won't fit. The passenger mat is smaller to accommodate the standard one.

You can see the screws for holding the mats in place, I really need to remove them. What I did find with the Elise CR which had mats but no carpet was getting in and out you would catch these and they would come out (short thread), I had to replace them a couple of times, so just took them out eventually. Don't know if this would be amplified if you put carpet in and the mats on top?

Hope this helps?
