There's a down to earth, easy going bloke called Mike, in a small NSW country town, Jerilderie, you might like to have a beer with. Many historians and genealogy experts calculated he should be the true monarch of England, King Michael I. His line to the throne was supposedly derailed about 500 years ago by successive Stewart-Tudor royals.

Something about King Edward IV being illegitimate with subsequent intrigues and royal conspiracy denying his brother and following descendants access to the throne.

Not only did England send her convicts to a sub-tropical paradise but her king prefers to live here too. B)

Thought of more famous celebs :)

Stood in fish and chip shop on Broad St. at 3.00 in the morning with the Duran Duran lot.

Had conversation with Bev Bevan of ELO about his california licensed black Trans am(parked at his moms house in Great Barr

My brother bought his Trans am from the drummer of Thin lizzy

Joe Strummer from the Clash spat on me

My dads business partner was Eddie Fallon(used to play for Aston Villa) footballers were nice guys back then

The night club ones are the hardest to remember (due to excessive alcahol consumption)

I think she did pretty well considering...

Frontwoman for the GoGos!

Heaven on Earth went Heptuple Platinum in 1987, 7 weeks at number 1

Runaway Horses went Sextuple Platinum in 1989, 5 weeks at number 1

Several 'minor' albums since then... all multi-platinums and one gold.

Remember in her day she was competing with the premier league of pop artists (Jacko, Madonna, Whitney, Mercury, etc) so she's done alright :)

I wouldn't mind having a ride with her...

I used to sit next to Mark (level 42) Kings brother in biology at high school. It was a great way to meet girls! He also owned a green Excel

I once bumped into Nell Mcandrew in green park London. Got her autograph and a peck on the cheek! Very lovely woman and utterly gorgeous! Girlfriend didn't talk to me for the rest of the day after that!

Chatted (briefly) to Jonathan Woss at a little britain show last month. Couldnt understand a bloody word! :)

Sat next to Kenneth kendal, ex news reader and host of treasure hunt, in a sport shop. He was trying on some very dapper rebocks!

Met Prince Eddie a couple of years ago at work. Just as i shaked his hand i let a silent floater go! :)

Also met his older brother Charlie 6 years ago (at work!) I was bet

Prince Charles bruised my mother once. Oh, and my friend used to work for him (and before that for The Queen)

I used to work for Michael Heseltine. (Huge eyebrows)

Douglas Hurd and his bodyguard once nearly knocked me to the ground.

I have met Emelyn Hughes.

Paul's brother was touched by Michael Barrymore.

I have also met Renee and Renata (they were present at the Bob Carolgees incident).

I directed Louis Theroux to the stalls in Brixton Academy once.

I would most like to meet Stephen Fry because I just love him.

Nothing really shattering

1. Most of Black Sabbath (worked for Laney amplification in the 70's and they supplied Black Sabbath).

2. Variety of 70's/80's groups (interviewed them as part of University Radio) - people like Lindisfarne, Blue Oyster Cult.....

3. Jasper Carrott - still have the interview tape I did with him.

4. Duke of Kent

5. The Queen (twice) - once at a Buckingham Palace garden party.

Paul's brother was touched by Michael Barrymore.

Cheers for that babe, tell the world why don't you...

:blink::):)

INFO

the occasion was a pantomime at coventry odeon. When they pick the kids

to go up on stage, my little brother got picked, Barrymore puts his arm round

him and starts asking him questions, his name etc...

"what does your dad do?"

"he's a policeman!"

(cue barrymores standard police related jokes etc...)

"what does your mum do?"

"she works at a school"

(my brother named the school, so the whole odeon knows her name)

"do you go to that school?"

"no, it's a special school"

(barrymore realises he's in dangerous territory)

"oh"

"cause everyone there is like this!"

(little bro inverts his hands, sicks tongue under lip,

and cruelly mimics someone with cerebral palsy)

"...and my brothers one of them!"

:)

Mum was understandably horrified, and was very worried about one of the

kids parents hearing about what a balanced child Mrs Chandler had raised.

Barrymore quickly led my jubilant brother off the stage...

:)

Dawn French sat on my lap once.

Shared a joke about getting soaked with Andy Green (Thrust SSC) at FOS while we were manouvering the cars down to the start line in the pouring rain in '98 (or was it '99?) He was driving a record breaking MG of some description.

PS If Adam Gumbiner is still around he needs to relate his tale of sharing a hot tub with Barbara Bach

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I think you'll find that was one of his usual 'little stories'

"When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realised that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked him to forgive me."
