Ingliston Revival 11-13th September

Recommended Posts

Nice Brian.  I remember that hill up from the cattle sheds where the 'paddock' really was a farm paddock and the cars sat around under semi cover but amongst the cow pats.  Brilliant.  That would be called the Holding Paddock today.  The Fiesta I think is going round Garden Gate and you can see how close to the action you got.  I also remember in those days the marshals all used to wear nome balaclavas all during the racing.  I still have mine and cary it to every event but it never comes out the bag these days because if you need it you are too close!  Better trained now as well!

MMC in Edinburgh circulated a flyer today to say they are launching their 400 at the Ingliston Circuit Revival Meeting on Friday 11th.   Contact Brandon for information on entry etc.

Brandon telling me he is getting 2 in, in completely different colours any day soon hopefully.  I'll say no more until he posts up like a proud father.  I'm jealous as offshore.

My 'outstanding' memory was being a flag marshal at Southstand the day Doug Niven decided (not that he had much control over it as the throttle had jammed) to park his Escort in/on the toilet block. Not so good that there were people in there at the time but if the loos hadn't stopped him, he'd have been careering down the A8.

Morning all,

I have just received an email detailing plans from Fee. Can I clarify a few things?...

I have been instructed that I will be on Pitch 17 - is that the same for everyone else here?

Also, it advises to bring along tickets (obviously).. when I click on the email I received months ago to "Download Your Ticket" it takes me to "Your Booking Confirmation"... is that what constitutes a ticket?

Thanks

Dom

Pitch 17 - check

Bring along tickets email - check

Actually having ticket - ermmm

I have already emailed fiona with regards to this, hopefully should get clarification shortly.

Cool - let me know the answer - will save her being bombarded by emails all with the same question!

Thanks

Hi guys. It looks like we have all fallen into the same trap. I got my booking confirmation months ago but didn't bother to print the tickets then - they'd only have ended up being 'misfiled' (for that read - my good lady would have stuck then in File 13 during a tidy-up session) in the interim. When I tried last week, I encountered the same problem as you. I contacted Fee with the ticket numbers from the confirmation and she got another set emailed to me.

Looks like I'll also have to confirm the pitch number as I've got #25,  .

This sounds like what happened with mine. There was a link in the email fee sent and then it takes you to an Ingliston revival head page (Gulf orange and blue colours)

Confirmation number underneath and at bottom of page is a very big barcode.

This is the page im printing off.

In addition to Kieran and Dominic, has anybody else experienced difficulties printing out their tickets?

You should all have 3 tickets, 2 like the example below (Adult Ticket - Weekend) plus another the same in every respect except the 'Type' field will say either 'Concourse' or 'Concourse + Track'.

If you have these already printed - great, just remember to bring them with you as you won't get through the gate without them. If you haven't tried printing them yet, please do so right now and let me know if you have a problem. I'll contact Fiona on everybodys' behalf and get copies sent to you.

Great result so far guys.  I see we have Brandon with the 400 on main part of website and all 3 sections about cars being there from Sports, Classic and Unusual all have Lotus cars listed.

I see the Facebook link page has the GTE somewhere with a new sign at Edinburgh airport.  I guess that was Alan's Carbon one from a distance.  :unworthy:  :gathering:

Scunnered to be offshore for this!

Whoops - I see the GTE is in fact the new MMC Evora 400 demo car.   That bodes well if it looks similar from a distance!  I was going by the back end width and spoiler as well as front valance.

Reminds me of an incident years ago. I was working for a chauffeur drive company - sitting behind a desk a the front of the office. A member of the public walks in and declares "I am here for my eye test", to which I replied, " I can confirm that you do require glasses Sir", to which he said; "how can you tell so quickly", to which I replied "this is not the opticians" :o)

Back on topic....

Looks like I'll also have to confirm the pitch number as I've got #25,  .

Hi David, Is there any update on the pitch confusion?

Cheers

Dom

Pitch is confirmed as #17 - typo in the email sent to me. Maybe somebody, somewhere is trying to tell me something?

Dominic/Kieran - Fiona has resent your tickets so you should be able to print them from the new email.

Mark, you're definitely with us so ignore 25 and come to 17. I think Fee and her colleagues are starting to feel the pressure.

Also, just whilst I have your attention. Is your Esprit modified in any way or is it just as the day it left the factory? Although, factory-fitted options count as mods from standard spec in my book, , so I'd like to know about them if any.

It looks like I'm all sorted.

Printed tickets today - 2 complimentary and 1 for the car.

Pitch 17 for me.

Unfortunately, as I was a late entry, I'm display only although Fiona did say she would put me on the reserve list for track time. On the off chance that I get to go on track, does anyone have a spare helmet I could borrow (preferably small)?

Are there any plans for meeting up before, so we can all arrive together? Eg Hermiston Gate?

Douglas, give me a shout when you arrive. We are still classed as being down for track time.... if this is the case, you can take my place on track as we are not going on track. I guess you will have to clarify upon arrival.
