Elise S1 and S2 are perfect the way they are.

This should be the S3.

If Lotus could make this with a decent transmission, slight power upgrade (20bhp) and a decent infotainment hub...

Stunning.

Is he still at Jaguar? Grill looks Jag-esque rather than the Lotus "smiley mouth", plus styling details like monster tyres are again more in keeping with a Jaguar and would never appear on a Lotus. Personally I prefer the styling direction taken on the Exige S, but even that seems to have been abandoned in favour of "flame surfacing" like on the Evora 400

In the garage no-one can hear you scream

To be clear this was Autocar asking 3 designers to re-interpret a classic but not of their own, current, brand. As Thomson is at Jaguar he was allowed to pen a new Elise. He says its not that radical design wise - lower, wider, better aero, more power yes but not too far removed from his original. Reason being he actually wants to build it, a one-off carbon fibre creation for his own use. And that would be cool.

That is a very very nice sportscar.

I'd say build it, and forget about copying other brands 10 years after, with their suv idea.

I seem to remember, that Esprit's often had really wide tires. 245 rear springs to mind. As do 285, and finally 315.

Kind regeards,

Jacques.

Nobody does it better - than Lotus ;)
