Gearbox Shaftseals & Wellseal

Any pro's or cons of using wellseal when fitting new shaftseals in the gearbox. Manual says use wellseal however the old ones I removed show absolutely no evidence of any sealingcompound.

It will make them much easier to fit, as it will act as a lubricant.
