OK, as I watch the tumble-weed roll down the streets...

I'll take a bash at this:

Before I try and settle on a date - school night or weekend for preference?

Yes about time we did something round here.

Weekends are probably the best for me.

Filly Inn near Brockenhurst is a good starter for anyone wanting to venture down to the New Forest.

For somewhere more central in Hampshire, I've never been here but this looks worth a try. The roads around Salisbury are always good too.

A272 is always a great road, if very busy these days. Never stopped here but always pass by and think it would be a good place to meet. Great car park! http://sevenstarsstroud.co.uk

Thanks Jonny.  Some great suggestions, all would work well.

Brockenhurst would work very nicely for me, obviously, but will wait and see the geographical disposition (get me) of those interested.

I was also thinking of maybe suggesting:

But only because the beer there is monumentally good and they have a decent sized car park thanks to the on-site brewery!

Is 18th July too soon?

Otherwise thinking 15th August.

Edit:  I should probably send a PM out using the list assembled for just this very thing...

I have my brother in law's 50th on the 18th. Otherwise would have definitely been up for it. In fact I'd much rather come to this, it involves a night of no sleeping in a tent.

15th August is the Brands Hatch Lotus Festival so best to pick another August weekend.

Flowerpots is good for me but Saturdays are not due to work. Sundays or week nights preferred but you're never going to be able to please everyone.

Thanks Pete.

Think I'll wait for a few more opinions but go for that weekend, Saturday or Sunday, and see where we land.  Like you say, otherwise I'll just be chasing my tail.

Thanks for the suggestion Mark - I may well venture down to one of these myself.

To be honest, I was thinking of a more "club only" type meet where we could just have a beer and talk "cod bollocks" as they say.

I'd like to think that we could get enough of us to make this worthwhile or maybe even semi-regular.

Potentially there's six of us so far...

In a moment of madness I've decided to try and set up two meets, hopefully to suit as many people as possible.

Right, here we go then:

1. 22 July, 1930, http://www.thefillyinn.co.uk/

2. 23 August, 1400, http://www.flowerpots.f2s.com/

Please copy paste and add to the list of attendees:

1. DaveC72, ...

2. DaveC72, ...

Thanks

Sounds like a good idea,

I can possibly make the July one but not the August meet as I'm on the club lotus stand at Bealieu supercar showdown.

Weekends are generally better for me and I'm always up for a meet to see new faces etc

To throw another venue in the mix could be the West Meon Hut (A32 / A272 crossover) There's quite often meets around here and theres a biker café across the road so always lots going on and something different to see. The West Meon Hut is not far from the Flower pot pub suggested so is quite central for those in Hampshire.

I know of another member whos also local that would be up for meets too.

Do any of you go to the Newlands meet on the third Sunday of each month?. In fact that's this sunday!. Its a bit of a trek but also good

Hello, I'm new to TLF.

The forum is superb and I look forward to contributing. The resource of members' past posts has already aided greatly in keeping my Lotus on top form.

Count me in for 1. The Filly Inn and 2. The Flower Pots Inn.

Spotted Jonny's V6 Cup navigating the glorious B3055-Hatchet Pond at a leisurely pace several months ago. A surprising sight in the mirrors of my Elise, I had to pull over to gain a better look as it cruised past. That colour is stunning!

Hi Tim,

Welcome and thanks for making the effort!

Pop over to the introductions thread and make yourself known.

Where about's in the Forest are you, and is your Exige Red?  I keep seeing a Red one on the A326/ Totton bypass!
