Well back home after 180 miles today for our LEGS outing.  Great day, great weather, great roads and great company.  We somehow managed 21 Loti cars at the highest single count (+ a Vauxhall Adam ) but we did have others join and leave the party. 

Rannoch Station must be one of the most remote places on the UK rail network and not far away from that on the road network.  For people not there today try finding it on a map some way west of Loch Rannoch.  

Initial meeting point for breakfast at Coupar Angus.  This is before all the cars turned up (Andrew & Co. ) and with a Fezza (Ex. Lotus) owner in for a gander at the cars to see what he is missing 

Of my 180 miles all bar about 60 were on roads like these.  All cross country single carriageway. We certainly had enough photographs being taken of the convoy through tourist traps like Pitlochry.

Rannoch Station for the Tearoom and snacks/Light lunch for some.  Nothing there but us and some bikes.

 

Remote!  Top one looking North and lower one looking SW over Rannoch Moor to Glencoe.

This is literally the end of the road!

& what roads!  A lot like this today for mile after mile.

I'd just like to add a quick post to say that I thoroughly enjoyed my first trip out with the LEGS team. Amazing day with amazing weather on some of the most challenging roads I've ever driven......or maybe it just felt that way keeping up with the Lotus convoy of nutters!?Thanks again for organising and I'm already looking forward to the next run out?

If there are any more pics keep them coming as I'd love to see a pic of my new Esprit amongst the collection of other beauties as I couldn't get my phone to take pics for some reason which has never happened before - timing!!!?

Great day out!

As I was coming from the west, I decided to do a wee run to meet you at Rannoch, but ended up with a few pals tagging along....

Really enjoyable day out. Thanks to all involved in organising things.

Lost folk around Comrie; did swing round, as I saw you down a side road, but missed you. By that point realised time was getting on and heading over to Dunkeld would take me further from Edinburgh, so bailed!

Now I need to decide whether to trade in my 111S for the Elise S Cup I test drove in Carlisle on Saturday. Tempting, but not purple! 

Anyway, awesome run, particularly the section in the morning past Loch Tummel and on. Good route!

Wow, what a great drive today!  Great to meet those of you that I did, and huge thanks to Brian, Al and Ken for making it happen.  Nice to see a couple of Europas out on the road. Trying not to covet Stephen's stunning S4S too much.

Fantastic roads for most of it but particularly enjoyed that uphill bit into the hills after we turned off away from (i think) loch rannoch; just about managed to keep up with Bobby but hats off to Liam and the mighty Vauxhall!

Looking forward to doing similar again, but in the meantime I shall wear my LEGS sticker with pride...

Thanks very much to the 'Three Lotuseers' for organising and managing yesterdays event. Especially the god like arrangement with the weather man. What a lovely and spectacular route with grand blethers at the stops and food was great as well; special thanks to the staff café at Rannoch Station for cultivating patience!

This was our first LEGS outing having only got the car 2 months ago and spent a good bit of time that with my head underneath trying to track and sort the leaky bits. Yesterday was a very fine test for the machine which it has passed with flying colours - mostly Norfolk Mustard!!

We will be back!

Sorry for the delay in posting up my thanks to everyone that came along to our Breakfast meet at Coupar Angus and then onto Rannoch Station, not forgetting the folks that joined us en route or made there own way to Rannoch. We were lucky with the weather and although in places the roads were narrow we managed to get there without incident.

It was nice to so many new faces along for this run and hopefully we will meet up again on future events.

What ever you do don't pull the Yellow lever, but it was too late. The Mallaig Express was rerouted via Glencoe!

Somewhat belatedly, thanks to everyone involved in organising this brilliant day out. That's the first sustained 'workout' on public roads for my P & J and if I loved it before, I love it even more now - I just proved that the limits of its abilities are way beyond mine,  , and yet it still turned in better than 30mpg. No complaints there!

Just to add thanks to Brian and everyone involved in organising this meeting. I think the poor folks at the Rannoch tea room weren't quite prepared for the influx of drivers, I hope everyone got a chance for a seat and a bite to eat/coffee. A great array of cars on show, lovely to see all that metal out for a run.

Weather was great and the roads were relatively clear. Can't ask for more than that.
