Radiators....

Evening all, 

Any recommends on where to get a new rad or is the only option (most cost effective option) reconditioning the old ones

Or are there retro fitting non standard options out there? Do the V8 rads fit earlier models ?

There are some options out there for new radiators. Many are pricey custom fitments.

One replacement aluminum radiator that fits is a Jeep unit.

 

But many (including myself) have found that re-coring the OEM radiator works fine. The OEM units have plenty of cooling capacity long as they don't become gunked up with road debris.

The list indicates an '87 to '01 Jeep Cherokee, made by Flex-a-Lite.

 

^^^ these are still pricey, tho'.  It cost me less than half that to recore my rad.

 

 

BTW some who have used aluminum rads had them leak within a few years, didn't they?  Most modern rads are mounted on soft bushes while the Lotus parts are hard-bolted in.
