First time in Caterham with Aero Screen :-)

Finally got a chance to take the Caterham out with it's aero screen fitted, tried it with a helmet which was a better experience than I thought but really impressed how good it is to drive without a helmet, haven't been hit at 70mph by any flies yet though so that may change my mind :-)

Yeah must admit I was quite nervous without the helmet on, bloody good fun though, can't wait to get it on the track now as the Bedfordshire roads are so bumpy you are forever trying to stop veering off into a hedge.

I found the rain very painful in a 2-Eleven with no helmet! I was on track (Lotus) with the chap who engineered the car driving and we were going quite quickly!

Yes I think 70mph was my max, amazing how exposed you feel without the screen though.

I am just moving a couple of mins away from Bedford Autodrome so hopefully get plenty of track time soon :-)

I once flew through a hailstorm at 90MPH in a Tiger Moth....wearing a leather flying helmet and goggles. Very close to lacerations!!! Back then, I was driving the supercharged MG TC with a Brooklands Aeroscreen....in the same helmet!! Still got the helmet...a genuine WW2 artefact.
