Good news!

My car is in final paint and I shouldn't have too much longer to wait.

In the meantime, here's a picture from the first viewing the other week. Not ideal lighting or environment, but still looks amazing. As I say, hopefully not too long to wait and fingers crossed for a perfect paint job this time

Which parts of the body needed repainting?

Somewhat academic now. They decided that the best fix was a full repaint. I guess otherwise they could have been chasing a round in circles trying to get everything matched. The main issue was a few adjacent panel matches which were off.

Looks much better with a painted roof - on my 'to do' list now!

Wonder if the flexible rear boot lid can also be painted (I'm not feeling love for the matt bits at all anymore)

Yeah, the matte black parts are painted with a soft finish coating, but are hard plastic / GRP underneath. To repaint you will need to strip the matte finish off first. I have my doubts that the louvre will look as good in body colour as it does in the soft matte. Black or Anthracite Gloss might work though.

I figured with the roof that I thought it should look better in the flame, but could easily wrap it to match matte black. Going the other way would be much harder. The other matte black bits I really like.

Seems to be taking an age to go back through QC after repaint.......

My pickup date from Stratton is scheduled for next Thursday. It's nice to have a time frame now.

Congratulations! Paint job looks very different comparing indoor and outdoor pictures. Beautiful anyway!

Yeah, the multiple light sources indoors at Stratton really get the paint popping and show off the gloss. Outdoors at Hethel, with clear winter skies and a low sun you only get a sliver of "pop" that tries to hide along one of the edges. Needless to say I'll be taking my time to get some stunning pictures once it's finally mine
