@Dave Freeman The "Event" is locked as no-one gets any notifications of replies, but I create one so that it is on the front page of TLF. You can reply here, which isn't locked - but you have to "register" to the regional forum to reply.

Thanks Chris, but back in the old days you could reply. Very novel this new method of communication.

Change occurred sometime last year. The "PM" goes out to 60+ people, not all of who are registered in the regional group, so wouldn't get a notification a new posting here. The PM sends an email every time there is a message added, so replying there sends an email to 60+ people (and @pete and @Dave Eds get annoyed with repeated emails).

Unfortunately, although the "Event" looks like a normal thread any replies there don't get added to the unread items on the front page of TLF, which is damn annoying, hence I lock the event to replies and point to the thread it refers to. The event does appear on the front page of TLF - right hand side.

J22 M25 round to M11 has been such a nightmare on Thursday evenings that I've been coming off at  'The Bell ' and going through Welham Green, Essendon, Hertford - so another well chosen location on my route home  ... see you Thursday.

Very unusual to have the whole pub and carpark to ourselves. Worth a re-visit next year.
