Not quite Lotus but Racing VLN Nordschlife in a BMW M6 GT3 car!

Hi all!

To keep you all upto date with my racing plans I'm hugely excited to announce I've signed with BMW Customer Team Walkenhorst Motorsport to pilot the Total Lubricants BMW M6 GT3 for the remainder of the year in the VLN championship based at the Nurburgring!

The VLN is special to anyone in the automotive community. The most challenging circuit in the world, and that attracts the big manufacture teams like Mercedes, Porshe, BMW, Audi, and the worlds best GT drivers. This is the temptation for me to compete and prove myself against the very best in the business as I know I have what it takes!


David, one of the top UK Rising GT drivers and Performance driver coaches in the UK is a multiple British & European Champion in both Modern and Historic machinery. Previously David has competed in the Ginetta GT4 Supercup Championship, British GT Championship, FIA Historic Sportscar Championship. He dovetails his racing career coaching Sports & Supercar drivers as well as other aspiring racing drivers.


I gained my Nordschlife A Permit at VLN3 in the Walkenhorst BMW M235i Racing Cup car with 4th position in the highly competitive Cup5 class with team mate Alex Lambertz, and now I can't wait to take on the GT3 factory supported teams and drivers..

This is my big opportunity. I believe I have the ability to mix it with respected factory drivers and work with factory engineers. I will be very respectful of the demanding circuit which is absolutely fantastic to drive! I can’t thank the team behind this opportunity enough for helping make this season happen, and am determined to repay their faith! I’ve always been very competitive straight away in every car I have driven, never needing much time to learn.

VLN4 on 7 July is a 4 hour race, and I will be sharing with Walkenhorst regular drivers Rudi Adams & Andreas Ziegler who both have great knowledge of the 500bhp+ M6 GT3 from the Blancpain championship and racing on the Nordschlife.

The whole team is excited by this combination of drivers. The team has many years experience competing at the ‘Ring, the car is a proven winner around the Nordschlife.
Walkenhorst regularly run factory cars for BMWs Pro drivers so I will have some very competitive data to compare and learn from.
My aim is to gain a factory driver’s contract by the end of our 3 year plan. If I can make that happen sooner, then great!

I believe they have live feed of the race on U Tube, with quite a few in-car video's, including one of the Walkenhorst BMW M6 GT3's. So, I'll be tuning in to watch. Outstanding David. Couldn't be more pleased for you.

The actual race starts at 12.00, through until 16.00,  but there is qualifying from 08.30 - 10.00 @BatMobile. I looked at a previous race yesterday and it looks like a brilliant event to attend, very competitive with lots of different classes. I've put the dates into the diary and I'm going to try and get over for at least one of Davids races, probably staying over for a day on the ring afterwards.

According to David’s instagram, P3 in pro-am, P8 overall out of 133 cars and if they hadn’t had an issue with code 60 they would have finished P4.

Not bad Mr Pittard, not bad 😉

Just realized @david_pittard is doing very well in the NOS VLN ... P1 in the qualifying for VLN6 tomorrow ... WOW 💪... its an extremely tough competition out there ...

Hi @NW76 I think you will find the race is today. They qualify in the morning then race today at about noon local time. Believe you can watch on a UTube channel as i did for the last one. Must have been some lap!!
