"LOTUS" missing from 907 casting - why?
LOTUSMAN33 replied to williamtherebel's topic in Esprit Chat
No idea Lez, I thought they were odd when I first saw them but looking at yours in wrinkle paint they are quite smart as is. Mind as youβre converting to U.K. spec fitting the lotus embossed ones will be better. Did your car have the emissions set up with air injectors? Dave -

S1/S2 - My idea for improving the motor mounts

Adding the engine snubber helps prolong mount life holding the engine during hard acceleration. Iβve used similar on classic minis for years to hold the engine firm. Dave π -

I have a snap off steering wheel Steve which brings the wheel around an inch closer. Iβll drill the original S1 wheel to fit the snap off as the crash pad will hide the extra holes. It also makes it easier getting in and out. Iβll look at raising the front of the seat as well to experiment with the optimum position, thanks for the tip ππ»π

I found these images of my S1 when it was painted yellow in 2006, it actually looked quite vibrant back then although it would have looked better had it retained itβs turbo front spoiler. So I finally drove my car today on the driveway and back up a few times but not without teething issues. I could smell burning rubber and realised my new water pump hose had sagged with heat and was touching the cambelt, nothing new or sinister so fixed (will have to be replaced again as now worn). My throttle position sensor is loosing its position so I have to keep resetting it on the ECU, this causes poor running which is irritating. Iβm going to order a better quality one if I can. Lastly my brakes were applying themselves, I realised with the engine running the brake pedal was dropping so the booster is toast, now disconnected and blanked on the inlet which certainly aided the engine idle issue. Not sure where best to get that overhauled, I have a couple kits but suspect itβs corroded inside especially with the state the master was in. Still it was nice to be behind the wheel again after nearly 30 years even if it does look a complete heap at the moment π«£. I bolted the seat to the floor with no runners, what a difference that makes being tall, they definitely wonβt be going back when the S1 trim is installed.
