  1. I know a guy who went to look at it. Its been for sale for a long time. Its ropey rough n the "service history" is done at a garage round the corner type place. Aparantly the owner said hed take 13for it...which is still high for what it is.
  2. I had the goodyear eagles on mine but ive replaced with Hancooks...and I think theyre much better and a significant price difference. Khumo was my other choice. .the tyres only last 5to6k miles anyhow so spending top dollar on big brands didnt compute ..
  3. And another good point of why cars should be put on the dyno..not just to see the results of mods but to show weaknesses and problems that you may not be aware of. Again these became apparent when I started using the dyno and it helped identify and enable me to improve vastly and in the best manner
  4. Ive held back from putting my name down due to not knowing where ill be..off shore or otherwise. As its my birthday (thanks bibs for the party) Let add from the midlands. 67. Dodge 1979 68. Changes 69. Chris v8 70. Palmergeddon 71. Nige???? 72. Another chap I cant remember the name of
  5. Just undo the union on the coolers every year..I do this and the added benefit is the joint wont sieze and cause issues with any work that may require their removal etc..its really the best way. Coolers are emptied. Hoses are emptied. And I also remove the sump on every oil change. There is always a quantity of oil remaining in the sump no matter how hard you try and drain it..perhaps a lttle ott for some but ive always done this on all cars ive serviced..
  6. In the instance of the Esprit I believe the "chips" sold by puk are not the way forward. But then again Im not after big bhp figures..just further refinement and improvements. Ecu mapping is not available on our ecus. If you fit a stand alone unit capable of being tuned on all parameters to suit an engine then that is proper ecu tuning. So ecu tuning isnt rubbish but puk chips to just provide extra fuel and boost as a cheap fix to better power is. There are other factors to add which make tuning an engine a lot more involved. Daves esprit is classic example of the never ending circle of changes. Mentioned above is expectations on some 350 bhp from adding a chip ...whether thats the laughable claim puk put out to sell them I dont know..but seriously you have to do a hell of a lot more than add a chip to improve an esprit
  7. Well....im sure a few have read my thread in the esprit chat section on dyno results and realistic expectations. ..its all there really. If youve got a chip in and believe the hype poor you..theyre not the way and rubbish. Without turning into a dyno-argument theres more to tuning than bolting on mods and expecting good results.
  8. Truely looks wicked...and yet im still searching for my "locked away for xx years" find. ..
  9. I think I made a point a while ago on this thread..castrol are replacing a lot of their slow moving lines and re branding them. Edge sport oil is no longer available and is now merely called edge 10/60..for our grade. The taf-x hasnt been made for yrs. They recommend the syntrax as its still to the GL4 spec. Ive used this for 4yrs now with 2 oil changes. I've see no issue. However all our boxes are now worn and as such my bix may be fine but the next chap may have a worn box and experience issues..just guessin he may..
  10. Shame on you john..everyone knows its when the cams are being their meanest towards the valves and pushing them away as far as possible..I mean..no pun..the cams are just bullies..constantly hitting them defenceless tappets n valves. .
  11. Ive not really had much chance to keep track on this thread last year..however ill make a point now. The switch I used and have recommended to others (with successful use) here in the uk comes pre set. Also if fitted correctly you wont get any further warning lights..every now and then or once or twice only. A solution is a solution. Yes it requires an adapter to fit both the pump and wiring but it is within the capabilities of any competent owner..
  12. Keep an eye out then as if there are ant social gatherings Esprit wise we at the midlands will be in the midst of it..keep an eye on our regional page.. midlands group..we may well have an outing around then. Or keep in touch with PM msg and im sure we can sort something out...
