  1. We here in the Midlands group are organizing a little breakfast meet at Stow-on-the-Wold with the last sunday of this month in mind. Its a nice drive out from all directions, parking is a-plenty in the market square (although it can get busy there from about 10am onward if the weather is good) and there is an abundance of good coffee places and breakfast choices. Having visited a few times for breakfast, I would suggest visiting The Coffee House, Church Street which is a couple of minutes walk from parking. Breakfasts are fresh to order and have been consistently excellent each visit. Postcode for parking is GL54 1AB, and The Coffee House is GL54 1BB. I would suggest aiming to be meeting in the Market Square for 9.30 and if I know a number of attendees prior, I can call ahead and see if tables can be reserved for us. Ill copy this post into the London, Midlands and Oxford regions to get a good local coverage. If this turns out to be a date which is unsuitable, by all means please suggest an alternative! If any definite attendees can make it, please drop your name below; 1 Dodge1979 2

  5. Im gonna have to let you down on this one Trev sorry! Despite saying at Bicester ill be comming down Im afraid it looks like ill be working in the night..but we are looking to do a breakfast meet up one sunday at Stow-in-the-Wold if you Southerners fancy it..
  6. I bought a region1 dvd a yeAr or two ago from the us it plays fine on my PS
  7. Yes i know ive met him a few months back now and its nice the car is back on the road after all his work..
  8. Driving down The Parade at about 1pm today...with black and white number plates too....looking good!
  9. I would suggest your opening a can of worms not because of my personal view that itd be easier to keep and get it working but for this reason.... ...the lines run through the left sill. Youll need to drop the radiator pack out of the front to get to the condensor which means youll have all the broken sheared bolts screw etc to replace. If its the first time the rad pack has been touched for a few years then this is pretty much gaurenteed to be a pain. You may or may not successfully move the oil coolers out of the way without breaking them at 200 odd quid each...then when its all down off the car you would be a fool to not replace the radiator at another 240 quid. Youll then need to either cut the condensor off the chargecooler rad as they share the same side frames in which case youll need to build yourself a spacer to correctly hold the chargecooler rad inplace firmly. The chances are the unit will be ok to reuse but with the age of it itlle probably disintegrate. .resulting in you sourcing another one (I have a very nearly new one spare) or youll have to have a custom one made at another 200 quid. Alternatively in order to not butcher the current condensor/chargecooler assembly you could just have a custom chargecooler rad made at...200 quid say. Then space it correctly and ensure its firmly fitted. Then you may well have to repair the fibreglass rad assembly frame/box thing before refitment using all new stainless fitting etc. Oh and possibly replace chargecooler hoses as the new rad will be in a different position or indeed be a custom unit with fitments in different positions. Then comes the bleeding of the engine and chargecooler with new coolant if the correct grade..so you may as well replace the thermostat as well as a matter of course... So. Having spent a lot of hours, 500quid odd on rads assuming the oil coolers dont do the usual and break. .if they do youll be looking at 1000 quid for the lots. Plus the repairs to rad shroud, cost of new fixings hoses coolant etc.. I would budget yourself for this one and weight up the cost of 25kg weight loss vs £1000 wallet loss If you really think you want the system removed either take off the compressor off the engine and the belt at plug the two hoses with correct blanking plugs and tie them up out of the way for nearly free (maybe 10quid for two blanks) or open the big can of yummy squirmy worms.....
  10. In reality you wont see any gain from removing all the ac components in terms of performance. So why not get the system working correctly? If you clean your rads you will have perfect cooling anyhow.if you have cooling issues or build up in the fins or between rads then theyrr due for a clean or refurb anyhow..
  11. As I understood it the casings were correct as above but the ratio was different for the esprit. .so the internals would be different I assume....whether this is true or not I don't know for sure
  12. Yea as above..why is a flywheel needed. In reality some blueing if the flywheel is fine and will not affect the performance of the clutch if it was groved or pitted or rutted yes rework or replace but in reality some marking will be acceptable. Really what you want is someone to replace the clutch with parts supplied by yourself at a cost your happy with..
  13. there is a company that makes pattern copy of the Peugeot tank although I cant remember who it was now..I saw them last year and they looked fine.I wouldn't be worrying over whether Peugeot will be making them for much longer or not its not exactly a part that needs replacement regularly
  14. I think Gary Kemp had silicone hoses made as the fitment of the china ones isn't always very good..a little too loose as Ive been informed. The best clamps to use are Mikalor
  15. Ok. ill say it again. What was written in the txt above reads 1000 to 3000 psi as the chosen one. I didnt see a pdf link.
  16. The way it reads is that the chosen item has a range of 1000to3000psi..not 6000. Hence me saying it is not suitable to perform and maintain its ability to enable the over pressure safety aspect of the system to perform.
  17. 11 pages and finally its gone to be looked at..I do genuinely hope it gets sorted but really take it off the road and then get it ALL done..otherwise youll just be going round in circles chasing too many things..
  18. So the switch your going for then isnt correct for the system. The system CAN go above 3000psi quite safely. The pressure release is set at 3400psi for a reason. If anyone fitted that switch then the pressure safety aspect of the system wont work and the switch will fail before the pressure relief cuts in. Messy result. Its not a question of trying any switch and seeing how it goes..ive spent nearly 3 yrs on this now to get to the stage im at with the new single unit switch and really dont recomend cobbling something together..the one being mentioned above is cheap for a reason.
  19. I don't need a level sensor because a, I check it on every journey. b as bibs said..there will be tell tale signs. and c there are 'min' and 'max' marks on the tank like good old fashioned simple units have. the use of a level sensor is to enable those who don't want to/know how to to be alerted to an issue....
  20. The s4 also uses the single tank. Early ones had the twin tank. The level sender is still available from peugeot and is cheaper from them than sj or pnm. Ive converted my system to 2 seperate tanks. The original one ive kept for the engine and I run a seperate small header tank for the chargecooler
