  1. Yes our resident photographer was missing....mind you, your presence nigel would have balanced up the car colours! Three yellow matched with three blue n daves red... This time round though my in car camera has worked! Whilst the weather was a bit wet, ive got some footage to paste together to make a 5or 10 min film.. Of the more interesting parts. Unfortunately my waggledance isnt part of it... wish id seen it!
  2. Could well be...except the lights were stuck up when I saw it!
  3. White elite on a trailer being towed by a red landrover on overwoods rd Tamworth...just passed it
  4. I think the majority opinion on this show supports the previously expressed concerns from the true profession, on how misguided misleading and of poor image this type of 'show' can make the restoration and classic industries and communities gain. this is pure 80's back street garage behaviour, before regulating the type and quality ofwork became a standard to work to. The title 'classic. Car rescue' should refer to what happens to the vehicles post show...they get rescued by a true professional or enthusiast from the pair of plonkers bodging and dodging proper repairs in the vain hope they can falsify a profit and pass on another heap to an unsuspecting joe public, furthering a poor image for the trade and community, no doubt destroying someones childhood dream of owning that car when they discover the truth...putting a nail in the coffin of enthuiasm for classics and a pillar under the eurobox buyers camp. Hopefully there will be a second series showing what happened to all these potential beauties and how they were then rescued and properly restored to a quality standard by both enthusiasts and professionals alike...which would do far more to evoke interest, enthusiasm and future owners who would spend hard earned money on a project, regardless of budget levels and experience.....
  5. Yes it was a good day...smooth driving despite the weather, but sometimes its nice to have a relaxing drive..good company too made good chatting over lunch..
  6. Planet hoob isnt real? Im sorry but next youl be saying mr spoon didnt really fly to button moon :-P. I saw it and everything....
  7. It seems it just doesnt like it. I was in the same boat..however a good old fashioned windows does well. Soan old laptop with an outdated windows is the best option...
  8. Well ive had 'Q' install the submarine button on my car....i foresee no issues :-P
  9. In honesty, ive always used the tank cleaning and protecting process that can be purchased from frosts......for example on my esprit, I shot blasted the tanks, one required some work as it was pinholed...other was solid. After rectification both went through the same process. Clean and degrease inside, then using the tank sealant both were coated inside. This makes a good impenetrable resin type coating inside the tank, all seams are cleaned and coated. I think its a por product..ive never had issues so long as you do it right...
  10. V power is 98 if I remember right....it always used to say so on the pumps ive used around here..

    Teen Agent

Just to resurrect An old thread.....i saw this film.when I was at school all those years back, having always dreamed of owning an Esprit. The unfortunate thing is, I actually loved the film but its not available in the uk! So its a us only release ive spent years trying to find a copy...
  12. Rich, my s4 has the same 3inch strip peeled away, on the windscreen edge between the binnacle and screen. As a temporary repair to hide the white colour underneath...ive got some high temp spray adhesive to stick it back down. However, before doing this is used a strip of black wiring insulation tape over the white showing, having tucked the.edges under the leather then glued the leather down. Now you my think this mad, but the shade of colour of the tape is a match to the colour of the leather! So, without peering closely it just looks as if the leather has wrinkled a bit... A ten min job and it appears a lot better...one day it will be done properly as mentioned with tue screen out, but it wont be yet! Oh and the speakers can be changed with the screen in place...i did!
  13. I normally use shell v power, failing that bp ultimate. I have, out of.no other.choice, filled up with the Tesco premium once. It is known, from various rolling road runs on peoples Esprits that they do tend to run better with the higher octain fuels. You may not necessarily feel any great improvement in performance, but if set up correctly a smooth running engine performing efficiently is worth the extra and probably not noticed quid or.so per full tank of.fuel...
  14. It will be fine to run on unleaded. Use of the.higher octane fuel.is.best and get the car set up properly on a rolling road to ensure its correct.
  15. Hats off where due...great looking car.is it me or do the older models creat mor excitement than the later models.......
  16. Is anyone else able to make? Having talked to.a.few peeps in the real world it should be a nice day out...please sign your name...
  17. ramjet Yesterday, 08:26 AM Anyone else puzzled as to why there is no picture of the "Showroom Condition Interior"? Maybe the interior is crafted from cutting edge shell-suit material....i believe green and blue are respected colours?...
  18. When you depress.the pedal and the light shows, are you testing this in motion or when stationary...ie on your driveway? If so, is.this with or without the handbrake applied.
  19. Very good! Its interesting to see how smooth the image from the camera is, yet note.the.amount.of travel the.suspension is.doing.....in otherwords, you can literally see that the chassis.is.absorbing.the.road to create the famous esprit driving experience! Great stuff
  20. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.....
  21. Heading south on the a46 past Stratford yesterday evening at 6pm...i did wave! In the mini though!
