  1. Ive been following this one for some tine too...its friends.with my lotus restoration page...
  2. Does anyone know if the rear view mirror is the same item throughout the life of the esprit? Ie is the unit from the s2 for example the same as my s4... Its just mine is broke and I can get an early unit...unless there is a cross reference source for it? Cheers...
  3. Cruising on the opposite carriageway a shiney red non turbo esprit heading south past banbury on the. M40...
  4. It is ecliptical yes, but my bov wad supplied with the correct tpiece hose, which was round. It still fitted perfectly as it will bend to suit the pipe shape either side of it..
  5. Near coventry, I think the shaft is still in there...would have to cut the bolts off to take it apart and check...
  6. Im in the Midlands! Near coventry....have you looked on ebay or such for a copy of it on disc? If there is something specific you need to see soon I could scan and email the relevant pages if it gets you out of a pickle...
  7. I think mine is still rusted to the original exhaust, with the internals removed..if your local im happy for you to have it
  8. Had mine repaired with no issues, but it would depend on who does it and what they use to weld it with as to how long it will last...im not sure if its common knowledge, but these manifolds are very high in nickle content, which is how its able to return to its correct shape after heating up with the high temperatures during running, avoiding cracking or distortion usually. It makes it just flexible enough....so I had mine welded with nickle. 30 quid repair with no issues...
  9. Ive got one...where abouts are you? If you want to copy mine you can...but im sure theyre available easily...and it is good!
  10. Im currently using the comma pink one, which you can get in halfords...although I couldnt find it originally, so made the mistake of asking someone who worked there, they said they only sold their own brand...then two mins later I found it in a different part of the shop! Useless... Anyhow I digress, I use the pink one x40 I think it is as its suitable for alloy engines, Lamborghini etc.... I do have a stock of the proper castrol stuff too for the next engine out service end of the year to change too. Ive had no issues, it runs fine with no temp issues etc. As any coolant in my car wont be in there for more than about 2 years, or 3 to5000 miles I dont see any issues.

    Hello?

I think first come first serve with the idea for each month? Doesnt have to be a set month for each person, that way any other commitments wont interfere with what we all like to do really :-D im now debating leaving the esprit tucked up till april due to other things happening this month...moving for one! But who knows...i often change my mind. I think..
  12. Same thing happened to me with mine, but the simple solution was that I cut the old small pipe off flush, built up a small area of alloy weld then I tapped a thread into this on the pipe and fitted a 90 degree tail piece to then fit the small pipe back onto. No point wastin a perfectly good pipe otherwise or spending out unneeded I thought!
  13. With regards to removing the bushes in the arms, remove the circlips, and if your going to use a press to remove or install new ones be very carefull not to apply too much pressure as the arm can bend easily in this situation...i used a hack saw blade to cut from the centre hole outwards first to help relieve the pressure as they will no doubt have welded themselves in over time! Do this either on one side or twice, and it should come out easily then..or at least without as much force..good look! Darren
  14. You just overtook me! Im in my truck so sorry for holding you up :-D
  15. I used zinga on my esprit on the chassis by the manifold. But I covered it over with heat shielding too so it cant be seen. I also zinga'd all my suspension components before powder coating everything too. Its a fantastic product, but if matt grey finish isnt your thing tyen youll have to cover it over. Its overpaintable, powder coatable etc. Its the best product there is.
  16. Dodge1979. I think other nmeg members are in hibernation?.... Sorry.. 1 dodge1979
  17. I think my point may have got confused there. I didnt say I thought it was worth 20k. I have no intention of selling, as its the exact model spec colour etc ive always wanted..soits my boyhood dream exactly as I want it so im willing to spend that cash making it as good as as it is a sound investment in terms of money, time and readability to get everything done to start with...but asi said at the start, the product is only worth what people will pay...regardless of anything else...but its a vehicle thats safe to say will only gain value and credibility over time with the right examples...
  18. I think bottom line is the opinion ive had for years over many things...something is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay im afraid. When markets are good, people buy and with a product like the esprit it will always hold its value...if its the right car and the right buyer. Just because someone wants 20k for it, its not necessarily worth it if there is no market for it, and vice versa. Its been seen for items not worth their selling price to be sold over priced because of high demand...i think prices on these cars will settle at a favorable result for conscientious owners..in comment on the 6k offer on the s4, maybe it was april 1st? Honestly, id suggest they wernt all that clued up. I think money on the older models is strong values, but the late 90's v8s I dont think hold good value at the moment.this might be an indication again that owners are far more clued up these days and the typical lotus rep has vanished because of it? In my instance, I paid 9600 for my 95 s4 a year and half ago and spent nine months on a rebuild without ever havibg driven it. Total so far is 19500, and ive modded correctly and replaced everything nut and bolt. Ive got as good as new a car, except for the paintwork is originsl hut good and the engine is a tip top 54k mileage. So, I know I wouldnt let it go for any less than what ive spent as its fully sorted and I know wont need touching for another ten years except for maintenance...but so long as the insurance valuation meets my needs im happy...make sensr to anyone?!
  19. Watch this.space I may have a solution in a few weeks...ive been working hard on this issue..but i.want to make sure its.fully functional.on.my s4 first before detailing it all and getting peoples hopes up! But im very confident..and it wont silly money either.i should think...
  20. Clonked my head on the rear view mirror the other day and broke it! However on close inspection its been repaired before...so anyone got one? Thanks, darren
  21. Are those spring clamps in picture two being recond too were they an early version of adjustable suspension :-P
  22. Ok chaps, its.nearly feb and apparantly the weather will be cold. So shall we organise something for march? I think ill be holding off using my esprit till then...so..does anybody have any pre.arranged events with the wife that we should work around! Im happy for a day middle.of.march? Does anyone have any suggestions for a destination to break us in for the year......
  23. Call me mr thicky, but wen you put the code in, it says in brackets after the day options...2xentry + V/Pass. Does this mean that youll automatically recieve tickets for yourself and your passenger in the price for the chosen days...
