I think bottom line is the opinion ive had for years over many things...something is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay im afraid. When markets are good, people buy and with a product like the esprit it will always hold its value...if its the right car and the right buyer. Just because someone wants 20k for it, its not necessarily worth it if there is no market for it, and vice versa. Its been seen for items not worth their selling price to be sold over priced because of high demand...i think prices on these cars will settle at a favorable result for conscientious owners..in comment on the 6k offer on the s4, maybe it was april 1st? Honestly, id suggest they wernt all that clued up. I think money on the older models is strong values, but the late 90's v8s I dont think hold good value at the moment.this might be an indication again that owners are far more clued up these days and the typical lotus rep has vanished because of it? In my instance, I paid 9600 for my 95 s4 a year and half ago and spent nine months on a rebuild without ever havibg driven it. Total so far is 19500, and ive modded correctly and replaced everything nut and bolt. Ive got as good as new a car, except for the paintwork is originsl hut good and the engine is a tip top 54k mileage. So, I know I wouldnt let it go for any less than what ive spent as its fully sorted and I know wont need touching for another ten years except for maintenance...but so long as the insurance valuation meets my needs im happy...make sensr to anyone?!
