  1. Id love to check the freescan but Im having no luck getting it working..im not very good with the ol computer set ups Im afraid! Ive been told its somethin to do with the port settings but Im buggerd if I can get it workin...fuel filter is new, tanks have been out and refurbed so are clean as is the strainer.the fuel I use is only Shell....at a push BP....the other things mentioned would be shown up by the freescan if I could get it workin!

Ok, so having took the car out for its first proper outing to supercar sunday the other week, and a stint round the test track has revealled an interesting issue I have with the running of the car. Im edging towards fuelling issues here, after a bit of conversation with Dave too... Basically my engine is as follows; stock healthy 54k miles K&N air filter Ram air mod Oil thermostat Standard chargecooler Custom made chargecooler rad for top efficiency Electric chargecooler pump SPorts Cat Sports Exhaust New turbo Injectors upgraded - both primary and secondary as recomended by Travis I believe from five-o motorsports Standard ECU chip for the S4 Now, the issue I have is that at a constant speed, ie 40 or 50 or 70 or more its regardless, I have a 'pulsing' where it feels that the car is trying to pull away then back off then pull away then back off, as if you were blipping the throttle slightly. Now this is more annoying than anything else. My question is, who runs these injectors, have you had this experience? What are your views. thanks for any input guys! Darren

  7. I second that Mangle....Ive got all the stuff too but cant seem to get it working...anyone care to give it a go?! Id love to know what my engine light is on for!..oh and the ABS....Im better with spanners than a mouse!
  8. Yeah, the trail of oil led me to another leaking joint on the tubing. Ive chased them around this rad several times, the problem is its repair upon repair to re-repair the repairs..you get me? sometimes its best to start afresh with new even though it will be expensive. I mean, lets face Ive rebuilt the car nut and bolt over the past nine months restoration so I may as well complete it with a new condenser...
  9. Indeedy doo! And successfully too..untill the gas escaped out my condenser! Despite my best efforts at repairing it, twice, it still has gained another leak so it looks like Ill be having to get a new one now for sure...other than that the kit I bought has worked. It was nice and cold whilst the refrigerant was filling into the system..but it didnt stay in there long!
  10. Its an R12 which im fitting the later ports too so obviously need to get them on the right way round!
  11. Can anone tell me if Im correct in thinking the two air con pipes in the engine bay are the larger diameter for low pressure and the smaller diameter for high pressure?..so the low pressure one attaches to the lower port on the compressor the smaller one the higher port.. cheers
  12. Good question...I think it was the 24S .....ie 24inch with a spoiler, although I took that off. Havent used it yet as the car is put away for cleaning ready for supercar sunday this weekend. There was a Champion blade on it before and this is the same size etc and fit as that. It listed as being suitable for the Laguna, as has been suggested on here before
  13. Good stuff.. just to make sure the place were meeting is the hotel on the a429 stratford road? The place with a little cul-de-sac of houses next to and a pub on the opposite side of the road? Heaven forbid I should end up at the wrong place looking cool..although a little sad on my own
  14. I fitted a bosch 24inch blade. Took off the plastic clip, took the pin out of the old one fitted it to the new one as the hole for it is already there job done!
  15. The rads are no longer available. I think SJ bought up the last couple and there silly prices if you can get one. The best bet is to have a custom chargecooler rad built like I did to replace it and cut the aircon one off and reuse it as a seperate unit still. Its not a difficult task and youll end up with a chargecooler that works very well! If you want any more details Im happy to show you what Ive done if you like
  16. Yup thats the plan man! we can sort out a time to meet etc if anyone has a rough idea when they might be passing our way from the last rondevou point? I have ot give the missus plenty of time in the morning...we dont want a grumpy face because she was rushed now do we!

Hopo....you dont always have to pre book you know...first year I went with the porker I just turned up and went in the 'show cars' entrance...paid on the gate and parked up...maybe it was a one off...or as its getting busier each year they may be more strict now...but surely its worth it. At least if they say no you can always pretend to have no reverse gear so youll have to drive in to do a u-turn..if you get lost amongst the other Esprit's never to be seen again oh well!!
  18. Does anyone know the pitch and diameter of the two pipes that go onto the aircon condensor up front? ie 5/8 unf??for example.. thanks
  19. Filter definately on tight? They are difficult to get to properly in situ...and did you take the oil cooler pipes off at all when you were sorting out your coolers? Darren
  20. Yes youll have to undo the two pipes for the aircon aswell. Theyll probably bend or fracture like mine did..I tried repairing them but theyre not very strong to be honest...I had a custome chargecooler rad made up by the chap who made me an uprated cooling radiator..much bigger than the original and obviously more efficient..infact its physically as big as you can get in the space there...and the uprated cooling rad is a must too on this setup! Now I need to get my aircon working, but the pipes that I repaired are still leaking pressure...so it looks like it needs replacing with a custom job too now....but once youve got everything out, replace all the bolts with new..I used stainless in this area..theyre not load bearing items and the stainless ones will ensure that in the future you can have it all stripped out in an hour Trust me...I know this is possible I tried it!   22. Just caught up on this...what time does it all kick off? Would love to attend..subject to Q installing the new machine guns..removing the oil slick machine and giving me an early finish to my mission that afternoon Darren
  23. Mike, interesting...does anyone have the easy to do link for the cleaning thread??or shall I search till the wee hours of the morning...you mention a double switch system...where is that from? Although I did a little cleaning myself today..tried the accumulator again by depressuring it, turnin on the ignition...wiggle the plug it built up pressure....stopped when I pulled the plug out, put it back in wiggle, started again, with ignition on pressed the brake pedal several times...well quite a few till it lost all assistance...no accumulator being repressurised.....wiggle wiggle...build up pressure....you get the idea? Now, checked the wires were tight, the terminals sound....sprayed with cleaning/lubricating fluid...plugged in..worked straight off. depressurised the system...ignition on..build up pressure straight off...with ignition on depress the pedal a few times, accumulator comes on to build the pressure up...repeat, again works, repeat again works...depressurised..did it all over again..no problems,,,,left it for a bit did it all over again no problems. Sorry that was a boring paragraph but you get he idea of what Im doing...maybe just a dry connection or dirty...if Im lucky maybe!!! We shall see over the weekend so long as it doesnt rain!

Gaydon Gaydon Gaydon.....in a chanty manner..plus of course there is the bonus advantage of free entry to the heritage museum...love it british and this year they have the Sci-Fi displays....so if your a bit of a geek...as my missus likes to call me..and want to see the cybermen and darleks then you cant loose! Oh PS..for legal reasons I cant guarentee darleks and cybermen will attend. they may just be costumes...
