  1. he also says its always garaged..yet it smells damp inside and has blocked up headlamp pods and signs of the resulting damage from that in the lamps..its not anywhere as good as he wants it to be..servicing has been done 'by a mate at a garage' on a shoestring..my friend who viewed last year bought an excellent example late dash gt3 for much much less..
  2. Its been seen and it isnt good. My friend viewed it last at the end of last yr and confirmed again its tattyness..backstreet garage history with poor parts..rough paint..even the owner said hed take 13k for it. Its been for.sale for a loooooonnnnngggg time
  3. Ah..again the long term advertised massively overpriced and rough as a dog gt3 is up for grabs....
  4. Why not have a word with dave (changes) hes looked into the clutch system a lot recently...
  5. Why not get it working correctly instead? Its not as difficult as you may first think..
  6. People are over pricing GT3 models it seems at the moment. A friend of mine has bought a 98 model late dash example for 13k.same mileage, in excellent order..Whilst it doesn't justify the price on this one, it doesn't look bad. Plenum and cam covers have been repainted in the wrong shade of red..chargecooler still its orginal colour..signs of deeper engine work or just 'tart me up'? Overpriced but it is the best colour
  7. Well disaster struck for the first time for me... a snapped gear selector cable at 8am comming off the m40 this morning put paid to my attendance.. 2 days of graft cleaning the old girl up as well. Managed to get back to ian (palmergedons) house stuck in 4th gear only safely with a shaperone of guys who ended up missing out on the meet..but musketeers stick together! Hope all who made it had a great time.. im genuinly gutted I missed out.
  8. Bibs.. position 71 was for markw996 esprit s4. Might have been duplicated later in the list sorry my bad!
  9. Sweet...how about an artistic photo opportunity of the two under concord?..or are they closely guarded and not moving..
  10. will they be there sunday too when were all there!
  11. Not really. The best way to tell us with a test pressure gauge fitted and observe the initial pressure as soon as the pump begins running from a depressurised system. That coupled along with how well it increases the pressure..ie does it appear to struggle a little initially..and the pedal feel itself. A little soft on the pedal could indicate a worn accumulator even if the switch was running the system up to correct pressures. And sometimes t h e number of pedal presses inbetween the pump running...all are symptoms. It may be that the capacity or pressure rating of your old and new accumulator are different. Out of curiosity do you still have the old one to check against the new one?
  12. It was tatty and several shades of white. Sunroof was awful too.. delaminated windscreen. Roof lining mouldy. Definitely due a full resto to bring back to glory..and the roof putting back to solid.
  13. This has just sold this minute for 7800....
  14. Long shot, but from what your saying it seems to happen after or during the vehicle being on a slope. Regardless of the amount of fuel in it. I had an issue a couple of years back when my esprit intermittently wouldn't start after being on my parents steep slope drive. It turned out to be the emergency cut out switch was starting to go faulty. Swapped it over to a spare i had off a rover 800 and never an issue since. as I say its a very long shot but you have to start with the basics and go through things methodically otherwise its wild stabbing in the dark. Without being there at the time to see or notice things that perhaps you may have missed so far, it could be a number of things really.
  15. start simple..look at fuel. Could it be a dicky fuel cut out switch, or poor fuel supply.did it cough splutter and die or simply shut off dead as. Did all the electrics still work...any warning lights to begin with..more details are needed I think.
  16. Mark, just use one copper washer with a good surface area that fits between the two flat outer mating surfaces..don't build up a shape to fit in the recess out of several.. The new accumulator will be fine it tells you the capacity and working pressures stamped in the casing. On another note, I was hoping to hold off giving any information out yet, but since last year Ive been working on the system again to develop further improvements. I knew a while ago regarding the supply issue, but I was told it would be sorted by the end of last year. However, a combination of several things pushed me on to new avenues. Basically, having done the work, testing, spent the time and at my own costs in getting this setup working and correct, It was a bit of a kick in the balls to have the system given to Paul Mattys by someone (for whatever benefit of theirs) and then have them take it and start passing it off as their own work at highly inflated prices. I think it was underhand and as they were incapable of having done the work themselves in the first place, they should perhaps of gotten in contact with TLF as a gesture of respect at least and discussed it further. Now, as someone has mentioned earlier, because of their commercial greed the switches have all been bought up and are not available to forum members, which was the whole point of me having gone to all the effort in the first place! Transparancy from the start enabled other people to follow and successfully fix their braking problems, now people who had hope have now been let down because, I believe, of Mattys ignorance. Ill add that at no point have I had any contact with them or affiliation in any way about this or indeed anything actually, so this situation was unfortunately out of my hands before I knew it had happened. As you may be able to tell, that's annoyed me for a while now, but Ive kept quite so far for a reason. Next, Ive always wanted a neater solution. Im not a fan of two switches, various adapters and connectors etc..whilst it works well, its not the solution I ultimately want. I want a neater, one switch solution which can be supplied to owners with a simple fitment guide, a ready made wiring loom if possible and not using adapters and fittings and being made a bulky instillation as a result of this. Basically I want an easy interchangeable with the original unit 'fit and forget' item. Which brings me onto my latest development's. Ive again spent a lot of time and effort and at my own expense again, in conjunction with a UK company, creating a solution that meets my criteria. Without going into details yet, I have paid for a prototype unit to be made and Im awaiting its delivery at the moment so I can fit to my Esprit and start testing it. Im hoping that, if all goes well and it proves to function as I have deemed it should, it will solve the issues of; initial supply of the unit the length of time it takes to be delivered to the user the long term extension of its usefull life the bulky fitment simplifying its instillation excessive costs (ie mattys or ordering from half way round the world) and a fingers up to mattys as Ill have outdated what they've copied (personal goal) So if people can bear with for the time being, Im hoping Ill be able to give positive reports over the very near future and Im hoping I can pull this off....
  17. If you remember on sunday mark I mentioned about comparing them for this very reason. The original with the step in the shoulder enabled the oring to seal inside a recess in the pump body. The replacement you have is the same as the unit from the P38 range rover in terms of its fitment. It does not have the smaller shoulder on it and small oring in order to fit in the recess of the pump. I mentioned this in my original details at the beginning of the thread. I would not fit it using the oring myself, for the only reason that there is a risk that the oring could well be pushed out of shape or damaged or split upon tightening the accumulator. This may not be evident visually to begin with, but without that oring sitting in a recess, its distortion cannot be controlled and its shape maintained when put under pressure. This is why I opted for a copper washer of a suitable size instead, and as I mentioned yesterday too use a bit of ptfe on the thread. If you rely on that oring only being essentially trapped between two flat surfaces I think its a matter of time before it fails, and the pressurised brake fluid leaking out....well you get the idea. As for it being a direct replacement that may only relate to its litre capacity and pressure rating, not to its exact fitment. As I also mentioned at the beginning of this thread the accumulator is a SERVICE ITEM. It should be replaced regularly regardless of it only being slightly out of full function or not at all.
  18. You can never spend too much time planning a job! Yes good meet again..well organise a rendezvous enroute to mbw in the next week...
  19. nice pic of trevs sport 350 there on the 2nd pic...silver and blue really suit it
  20. Should have stuck to motorbikes really...maybe that's why hes parked it so close to the one in front..
  21. Cars as they age are like really old folk...they tend to piss something out just when you really wish they wouldn't.. Trev, strap a load of pampers ultra to the underside of the rad youll be fine...even if she does spring a leak there wont be the embarrassing puddle under her in the carpark and you can at least drive round the corner out of site before realising the truth and crying..no one will know! Oh n best bring a bib for sparky..catch them crumbs..(and dribble)..and maybe a spare nappie too just in case he has a senior moment..
