I think the government is stuffed with its wish to get early retirees back to work. 4 guys I know my age (mid 50s) are all early retired. None would go back for any amount of wages. All have worked and planned for this and none of us regret it.

Mid August last year we moved from Kent to west Norfolk. Edge of a big town 4 floor 5 bed Victorian house to small village (300 people) 3 bed 20 year old house. Quite nervous as to how we would fit in but need not have worried. Love every minute of it here. I go back to kent for 4 to 5 days a month to work and can't wait to come back to home. Whilst we rent out the house in Kent I would never go back to live (too busy). I guess you have to do the maths and research, take a big jump both feet in and make it work. 50% less council tax and fuel. Less insurance costs. We had 9 months in a 47 SQM annexe at the old house with most of our stuff stored at my parents. We needed very little of it. You have voiced this before maybe make the jump.

Front on view is a bit dodgy but the rest looks quite nice.

That little bastard grass seed just cost us £600 to have removed from our dogs ear due to her needing to be sedated to get it 😲. No walks through the woods for now , we can go across the parsnip field instead, less chance of them getting stuck😁.

Nice one, hope it was a less miserable process than ours was. However house and location make up for it.

We are not gin drinkers, however our neighbours own the Wild Knight Distillery https://www.wildknightdistillery.co.uk/ They make the Boadicea gin collection if anyone is interested. I can vouch for their Nelson's gold caramel vodka which is very nice.

The house we moved into 6 months ago is about 20 years old and has a 32 amp fuse at the consumer unit going to a cooker switch in 6mm cable where it splits also in 6mm, one piece goes to a ceramic hob and the other to a double oven. As a temporary measure until we redo the kitchen I would like to replace the ceramic hob with an induction hob and replace the double oven with a Bosch integrated microwave combination single oven. Should that work.

Unfortunately I think you are correct. 20 years ago we were buying a house where both owners were alcoholics, divorcing and he didn't want to go. We ended up bailing out after 6 months (lost 2k fees) and heard it did indeed need the courts to remove him. Good luck, crappy situation.

They seem to be shutting down all their local pubs apart from a few town centre ones and selling off the buildings to be converted into hmos

I have recently become one of the PM's constituents. With her antics she has pretty much stopped about 30 to £35,000 worth of work going to local tradesmans pockets over the next two years. Won't really stop our plans just delay them as I will have to do most of the work myself.

Where we have just moved to we have a 20 yo oil boiler, megaflow and programmer no thermostat. Thinking some sort of controls would be better. Any views from users of nest, hive or tado ( or others) now?

This was Reg a Tibetan Spaniel terrier cross who we lost 2 months ago, he was a rescue and sadly only had him for 4 years but he was a cracking dog. We said we would have 6 months just with a Chihuahua called Jason (another rescue) before making a decision on another dog. However 6 weeks ago we moved to Norfolk from Kent and although we were not looking for another dog one of the young ladies we previously fostered asked us to take on Luna who is a 16 week old Spaniel. She is going to love the countryside around here. Full of beans as she should be, everything is a new discovery.

Spotted a nice white S1 esprit a couple of eclats an m100 an elan plus 2 and a couple of lotus Cortina's along with quite a spread of other classics.

Finally completed and moved to a little village near Swaffham Norfolk. The whole process took 5 months and was a total mess considering it was just us buying a house. However can't wait to finish unpacking and getting on with the next stage of our lives. Will be a bit of a change getting used to a 10 minute drive to the nearest shop rather than walk over the road.

I had 2 cataracts done a year ago at 54 yo. The difference was amazing. You wont regret it.
