    Meet SID

https://www.banovsky.com/lotus-sid/ Saw this on twitter ..
  2. Did mine many years ago, it really cuts down the amount of water let in to drip onto the door beam (though also have plastic guard to divert water over it) . Got it from a stall at a kit car show,
  3. Have a look at Halfords' (Yes I know, Halfords !!!) own, the large is very large, easily covers the Elite, but great covers.
  4. Seen on a Facebook group, there maybe some on here not aware of the connection "Old London Photos Peter Hoskins Many of us know The Beatles song A Day in the Life, the final track of their 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. And for, probably, the very few of us who don’t know the tragic London-based story behind one of the band’s best-known songs here it is: John Lennon's lyrics for A Day in the Life were mainly inspired by newspaper articles of the time, including a report about the death of Guinness heir Tara Browne. On 18 December 1966, 21-year-old Browne died when his Lotus Elan crashed into a parked vehicle near the junction of Redcliffe Square and Redcliffe Gardens. He was under the influence of alcohol and other drugs. Nineteen-year-old model Suki Poitier was the only other person in the car. She survived the accident and said Browne had swerved to absorb the impact of the crash and in doing so saved her life. Browne was a well-known figure in the London’s Swinging Sixties scene and friends with a number of celebrities including, David Hemmings, Terence Stamp, Brian Jones, Mick Jagger, Marianne Faithfull and The Beatles. In 1981, Poitier and her husband, Hong Kong businessman Robert Ho, died in a car crash in Portugal.
  5. Elites look good in white .. (must improve my parking skills )
  6. Nearly there, gonna look great. What colour?
  7. Make sure the engine is connected to the chassis with an earth strap, it could be bad connection between the body of the starter and negative, earth.
  8. Hi Denis the issue was there when the car was running on points, hence one of the reasons i converted it to electronic ignition to try and eliminate the concern.. im going to go through a few of the things mentioned on the form earlier this week, to try and solve the issue over the bank holiday.

  9. Can you revert back to points?, that would eliminate your electronic ignition. Another component known to give problems when hot is the coil.

    Pub Lotus

Thought this might interest some. I lived near this pub and remember seeing the tv report on it's opening night. A F1 car was parked outside. What isn't mentioned is that the beertaps were in the style of a gearstick .. you selected your brew as if you were changing gear. Great fun pub while it lasted.
  11. "The British International Motor Show held at Earls Court, London held from the 20th to the 30th October 1965. Actress Diana Rigg of the Avengers poses on a Lotus Elan at the show"
  12. I mention the face that Dickie Davis died today because notice of his death on facebook carried this picture of him and his Esprit.
  13. TR7 motors then, they need loading to give the relays time to operate else they go right past the stop. I upgraded my vacuum lights to electric, buying the TR7 setup, but eventually ditched those and went with MR2 motors because of this sensitivity.
  14. Just saw this on facebook and thought I'd copy it here. The fella who ran SpyderSport told me he worked on Ronnie Peterson's F1 chassis ...
