  1. I did a similar upgrade to Whitey, I don't remember having to cut anything at the speaker end as I think they were just normal pish on blade type terminals on the actual speakers.
  2. So not a lot to update on this thread this year , eBay purchase of a front access panel lever as I managed to break it permanently (Jag X-Type I think) cleaned the head light nozzles yet again to ensure they at least pop up if not actually spray very much. Then off to the MOT station and an hour later a clean bill of health. So much for this being a hobby car...
  3. Thanks for this , after a fairly poor start to the year personally I've finally got the Evora booked in for it's MOT so I can get it back out of hibernation... Minimal jobs to do this year I thought... So in checking everything the bloody access hatch wouldn't release... I pulled hard enough to break my previous 3d printed handle fix and properly break the handle ( used X type one ordered off eBay whilst still inverted in the passenger side foot well.. but as the cable was now free pulling (the extensive) slack and outer as described did pop the door... TLF to the rescue yet again..... Now to try and fix the headlamp washer yet again without spending 163 quid or what ever it is on a new one from Lotus..
  4. I think most UK cars don't have the 3rd cat , and to get rid of the main ones requires new manifolds ... Plus then you need to fit a sports cat anyway for the MOT...
  5. Not sure the standard sports box is that quiet , last year I was within 1db of the Bedford static noise limit....
  6. Nice some one else doing an NA LE refresh ... I will watch this with interest to see what else I can do (I mean needs doing) on mine...
  7. A few on here including me have applied PPF to the lights after having them polished as that is advertised as having a UV protection factor. Then once a year I over coat that with a ceramic UV protector....
  8. Mine at Donington a couple of weeks ago , the circuit looked good as they were doing prep for the BTCC the following weekend
  9. Sorry @LuminaryCrush I've had a bit of a clear out of my fusion account and this bit the dust.
  10. 3 Launch Editions together , 2 Mk3's and my MK1 ... Was surprised how the Emira made mine look skinny...
  11. No idea... Not being aware of the Autocar journo but I've always found Sutcliffe a balanced source of info over the years.
  12. That's a different view from that expressed by Steve Sutcliffe in The Intercooler " If you sprinkle some of Hethel’s magic dust over the whole lot, what you end up with is a pretty extraordinary vehicle, one that feels and drives like no other SUV I’ve come across, including those from Aston Martin, Lamborghini or Porsche" And "The steering is entirely recognisable in its weighting and response off-centre, also in the way it loads up so delicately as you wind lock on. I reckon you could drive this car blindfolded and tell it’s a Lotus purely from the way it steers, assuming you’re familiar with the steering of Elises, Exiges, Evoras and even as far back as the later Esprits. Such is the intricacy of feel on offer." So whilst not the traditional light is right mantra and he freely admits it's not a Traditional Lotus but a more promising view than that of Autocar
  13. I seem to remember a narrative that the SC springs and shocks were re calibrated for the extra weight in the back from fitting the SC. So as well as the general bump in stiffness for the 400s across the suspension I think there was an increase in the rears for the standard SC prior to that. So not sure what that does to overall balance or if it's noticeable to mortals. I could however have dreamt it....
  14. So I've done the film bit but as belt an braces when the company (I'm not good/patient enough to polish them myself) cleaned mine up they gave me a ceramic type coating to use every year as a UV protection. So I've added the film and then every year I clean the coating off and apply new as a belt and braces approach, especially for the edges the film doesn't cover.
  15. Might not be able to read any ... Mine didn't BUT the OnLY thing I did was a read ... No codes .. a reset anyway and then I had chilled air ... So by practical experiment a complete reset command with respect to the unreadable ac codes (can't speak for other features) cleared them out ... Weird but true... As @Brendonian said I just hit the "clear all codes" option in the "Car Scanner" app.
  16. For what it's costs if you have a dongle and the app, useful in general with an Evora , just do the reset it costs nowt and if it doesn't clear the problem then it's back to the list...
  17. Well , TLF to the rescue again with this old thread.. The A/C failed on the Evora middle of this week as I was using it for the work commute so I sat in traffic Thursday and Friday slowly Marinading... Thought that not replacing the drier had caught up with me or that I not got the new condenser properly fitted and the gas had slowly leaked away.. On the way home on Friday I grabbed one of the STP/Halfords AC pro refill gauges and checked the pressure ... Plenty in ,the gauge went to the Warning segment so that wasn't the issue ... Head scratch time and search on here..... Half an hour later a quick code scan with the Android. "Car Scanner" app showed no codes, but I did a reset anyway and now I have A/c again. I wouldn't have even thought to do that without this thread. Not sure what caused it apart from possible a near stall on Wednesday being lazy in traffic that caused the spanner to momentarily illuminate but not latch. Anyway all good now thanks TLF
  18. So forgot I'd never posted the finished harness install... For the lap straps so they are removable I've used the Schroth figure 8 pieces both bolted down to the Lotus attachment points. For the outer I bought an original lotus passenger side bolting point that bolted straight to the seat rails.
  19. So have you had a look yet @Bruss... I've done some investigating using the Car Scanner App and found there are about 6 outputs connected to the throttle ... This one shows "Throttle actuator" which I think is the pedal position sensor, "Throttle position" which is the one Race Chrono uses in the display and is the actuator position driving the butterfly and "Relative Throttle" .. Which I've no idea what it is. I need to have a look but I think when the throttle position is at the 76/77% mark the butterfly is fully open as fully closed is at around the 22/24% mark so it's probably the actuator.range they are using and avoiding the extremes .. but just a guess... Then there are this lot which I've no idea about.... Just need to get race Chrono to use the pedal position now so it doesn't look like I'm never at full juice !
  20. That's where the 75% figure was coming from I think Bibs. Is there anyway of checking demand Vs actual butterfly opening?
  21. So I've been looking at the data recorded from the track day last week and the throttle opening recorded never goes above 75%... And yes I did max the throttle at every opportunity before anyone asks the obvious. So is this normal operation ie loud pedal at full travel only equates to 75% at the throttle body ...or is there a recal needed and I could have been soooo much faster last Monday ?
  22. All done by James Roberts Photography who were the onsite team for the day with LoT
  23. So a couple of shots from the LOT Anglesey TD on Bank holiday Monday . Ran very well both on the way there cruising so well in the Motorway and A roads and then performed well on the track What a bloody car and even being just an NA it did not feel that much slower than the Emira's there compared to when I've been in track with its newer more powerful Evora brethren.
  24. No , took a flyer that as the system hadn't leaked nor had significant exposure to atmosphere then it would be ok..
  25. Full test done driven over the last few days all sorted.
