I think you need to bear in mind that the track was a little different then & most laptimes quoted today are for the Tourist layout of the circuit which is somewhat shorter than the track used in 1962.

The only laptime I could find for Jim Clark in the 23 is a mention in the MotorSport report of the race. He did 9m46s when the track was still a little damp. The best race lap by Phil Hill in a Ferrari was 9m31s, the Ferraris were faster than the Lotus when the track dried out.
  4. I shall be going, albeit in the Evora, so won't be able to do the parade lap. Did a parade lap (2 actually) 3 or 4 years ago when I had my Dax Cobra rep. Its just a steady trundle round behind a pace car although if you hang back a bit you can get a bit of speed up. Reached the dizzy heights of 75mph on the new pit straight .
  5. Congratulations to you both.
  6. How about a nice old Landie! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Series-One-Diesel-88-CHASSIS-NUMBER-ONE-1957-first-one-off-production-/231831870957?hash=item35fa419ded:g:nJ4AAOSwGotWrmi0
  7. Ok thanks for that Pat, will drop by sometime.
  8. OK thanks Mark, I will keep it in mind. Haven't been to Hoffmans yet, I was thinking of getting it serviced there when it needs it, its a bit closer than Snows.
  9. Well its brown & black so I guess you could say it is cocoa. A couple more pics.
  10. Thanks all for the warm welcome. Yes Ramjet, I'm sure I have a few more piccies.
  11. Yes, that's the one, Snows added the stripes. I think it may have been one of Lotus's press cars as there is a video here on YouTube of it being tested on 5th Gear by Tiff Needell against a Porsche Cayman.
  12. Hi all. I've just joined the forum although I have browsed it regularly for a few months, I am the proud owner of the green 2010 Evora 2+2 pictured. I bought it last June having previously owned a Dax Cobra rep for 5 years. Really impressed with the car, great fun to drive, & so far (touch wood!) no problems with it apart from kerbing a rear wheel on a trip to Spa in September. It is not my everyday car so I'm not using it too much this time of year, but will be out in it regularly when the weather improves. Hope to attend a few events this year & maybe meet a few other Evora owners. Cheers for now Geoff
