  1. Great minds think alike. I was discussing this solution with a friend last night who is good with fibreglass. I didn't want to post it as I've found people can sometimes be derogatory.
  2. Did you ever obtain one? My engine cover is missing it as well.
  3. Very nice. I'm trying to get mine ready to take out on the weekend. I'll have to get out the karcher to remove the layer of dust. Where do I find the various filter details as the auto stores haven't been any use (apologies if this is the wrong section to ask)? I'll post a photo if it looks okay.
  4. Can you tell me how the throttle cable gets from the firewall to it's final spot. You may be able to see from my photos, that mine comes up in the gap in the middle.
  5. Can anyone post pictures of how their S2.2 setup compares to mine?
  6. What is the current status of parts? I noticed the last post is a year ago.
  7. The long spring actually slides across the airbox and touches underneath the stop. I think the spring is finally failing and that's why it's become more noticeable. P.S. My esprit was first shipped to Ireland when new. I still have the Irish plates.
  8. I would like to know if my setup is correct as it's sometimes sticking on 1800 and not reducing revs when the foot is removed from the accelerator. The long spring doesn't look right. I've a little nib (in the black photos) which doesn't seem to be doing anything. I have Dellortos.
  9. I have an S2.2 badly in need of a paint job and interior makeover. I've had my car since 1999 along with a few others. I'm more of a sedate driver than a polisher. I bought it in England and shipped it over when I returned to Australia. I'm not a speed demon (never had a speeding ticket) so Club runs have been a trial in the past. My car is due for a major overhaul (as per my posts), so I'm looking for guidance as the workshop manual can be a bit useless. I've been a bit quiet as I'm recovering from having to sell my Aston .
  10. Wow. It certainly does! Thanks.
  11. I'm not saying anyone is stupid. I'm obviously missing something as on the LHS, the pipe comes straight out of attachment on the filler neck down out to the open air and a T section sideways. If I go hard around a LH corner (high unlikely) then the fuel could possibly drain out anyway. I've had a few classic cars. Everytime, someone has messed around along the line and it's only through these sorts of discussion that issues are identified and rectified. I won't start on about my Aston's engine bay which looked fine when I bought it.
  12. Do you have a photo? It would be helpful to see what my end result should be. My workshop manual is useless on these technicalities.
  13. I recently found fuel vapour hoses laying around my engine bay after a car run. As it seemed stupid to run one of the hoses over the top and return (under the carpet), a friend simply removed the loop. I'm now concerned that there may have been a specific reason for it taking a circuitous route. Will it be okay, or should I re-install the extra hose. I thought it might have been related to the 'fuel vapour container' which seems to be American spec (not on my UK spec).
  14. My engine cover has 2 holes (equal size) on the RHS. One has elephant trunking passing through to the air filter. Am I missing a second pipe or is the hole redundant?
