  1. Hi again, I don't have the paper with me now, but if my memory is not wrong I have now front -2.4 camber 0 toe, rear -2.1 camber 2 toe in. For getting -2.4 at the front I had to mill the arms, plus I milled the fiberglass whel archs to not touch with 225 Trofeo. At the rear -2.1 is the max I can get. I know others can get more than that but not on my car u fortunately. Anyway I think current camber, toe, height of car is OK. Regarding tyres I have now 225/265 Trofeo R, however they FINALLY made 215/285 size for Trofeo and I am really curious to try that because that is the original size of tyres on my car. The width of Trofeo R tyres is generally bigger than the measure i dicated, so the 215 will be probably a 220 and the 285 a 290 or so. Anyway, I think that we can discuss about these things for days and not get to convergence. If we really would like to get best setting out of this car we would need to rent a professional driver and mechanic on track and let they play with setting (and tyre size). Of course this would be economically inefficient plus perhaps what fits that pro driver would not fit us.. I can tell you that both the last two coaches that tried my car on the Nordschleife immediately recognized the problem with trail braking. One of them also said that perhaps it is just the controls that are too aggressive and if I would turn them fully off perhaps the problem would disappear.. but on the nordschleife I don't feel comfortable doing that. I drive in Race mode.
  2. It improved a bit but not a drammatic change. I would say that soft pressure trail braking now works (to some extend) while medium trail braking still does not work (car does not turn). I think perhaps it is just not possible to make this car good on trail braking, due to the weight distribution and tyre size ratio. However I also think this car does not need trail braking that much. The lightness allows for very late and short braking, and that gives always enough room to brake on straight line and then go fast on gas early in the turn.
  3. Hello, I finally decided to remove airbags and 3-points seatbelts from my Exige 380 Cup. Together with this mod I am adding the AIM2 dash as well as custom steering wheel. The only part that I am not happy (yet) is the passenger airbag cover. Not having anymore the airbag I would like to replace it, for example with a version in alcantara, but my dealer told me it is difficult to find same alcantara to cover it. Do you have any advise? Many thanks for any input!
  4. Very sad to hear that.. it actually should be very simple to offer a setting that scale it between 7000 - 9000. Not sure after such a big investment why they do not decide to make a quick simple software update...
  5. Hello Everyone, I quickly went through all this discussion but I am a little bit confused. A couple of question: 1) is the 9000 rpm issue solved? I saw this photo on Komotech Instagram where the display shows 8000 at max (look at 2nd photo, the first one is engine). https://www.instagram.com/p/CVm2YXqInoE/?utm_medium=copy_link 2) is there a difference ordering the AIM from a Lotus dealer, from Komotec or from SeriouslyLotus? In terms of functionalities, and binnacle in particular. My Swiss Lotus dealer told me that Lotus is not shipping those anymore for this year because of the supply chain issue, so there are massive delays with parts. Many thanks!
  6. Thanks @Forthedrive! I am very interested to hear your feedback from Doningtoon. For dry track days I am now running Trofeo R and Yokohama A052. Of course I do not expect the Bridgestone to be close to those on the dry, just good enough to have some serious (and safe) fun in mixed or wet conditions. Also I am not concerned about consumption: at 500 Euro x set, it is OK to replace then after 2/3 track days if necessary.
  7. Thanks for the suggestions! I also saw a video from tyre reviews where it seems Bridgestone Potenza Sport ia also a good option. It is a new tyre so perhaps none has really tried it yet...
  8. One update on this: Michelin PS4S does not exist for 17 inch so it is out of the game.
  9. Hello, I am looking for a "backup" tyre for wet track days. I have excluded "rain" tires because those would force me to take them off if it dries or gets partially dry for 1h or so. The idea is thus to fit them and forget on days were rain is expected for more than half of the time. I have read good reviews of Michelin PS4S but I could not find them available now (perhaps is a size problem?). Do you recommend others? Also, about size would you go smaller (e.g., 205 and 265) or stick to the original size (215 285)? Thanks!
  10. I tried a GT4 at Spa, from RSR. Tyre were done, and in 14 laps certainly I could not learn the car as it deserves, however one point was very clear: compared to the Exige, the Porsche lack tons on the emotions side. Really, the pleasure of driving the Exige was so far ahead of that Porsche that I have no regret and I would not swap them even a posteriori or used vs new. Of course you can more easily drive fast and reach the limit on that car - it gives a lot of confidence. But for track days and having fun I think I made the right choice with the Exige!
  11. Yes, I did that on my old Movit installed on my Audi, but it is a very tedious and dirty work. Plus, if you do a track day you can't do until brakes are hot, and it is very impractical to do during the track day.
  12. Sorry if I post in the wrong place, but I could not find any discussion about the KT-490? Is there a thread? Did anyone in the forum tried it?
  13. Regarding toe, I have now 2.0 mm out (total) on the front, and 4.0 mm in (total) on the rear. This is similar to what Komotec also reccomend, as far as I know.
  14. Shims were all out, camber was maxed both on the front and the rear. I think it was -1.6 degree front, -2.1 degrees rear. Now my garage have milled the front and I have -2.4 there, but I have not tested the car since the modification. Regarding sway bars, I have it on soft at the front and on medium at the rear. What do you use?
  15. Indeed, this has been confirmed by Daniel Schwerfeld, who is a great coach and amazing driver (really!!!). I am not 100% sure, but in my opinion it is about the lightness of the car (particularly on the front) combined with the too small tires at the front (standard 215, now I have 225). In practice, the width of the tire is appropriate for the weight distribution, however when you brake hard you have too much pressure on them and they can't turn anymore. You can see this very well in the Nordschleife video when Daniel brake hard and turn at Hocheichen - the car understeer like crazy and he has to open and release the brake to turn. At Imola this issue was very evident, in practice you need to brake a bit earlier, enter in the turn with small/none brake, or in some cases even with already some gas. It takes some time to get used to it.
