Why no surprise, out of interest?

Good info, thanks Dave. I put extra mesh grilles on my car for just that reason. I'm not put off myself by its condition (now I know more about the wishbones, anyway); I prefer a well-serviced, well-used car to a garage queen. However, 430s are in Ferrari-money territory and many of those in that market just want cars that never move(d). Definitely one to watch.

Particularly as it looks like it's been driven hard a lot (475 upgrade, cracked disks and replaced exhaust gaskets!) and quite possibly a big off (stone chips everywhere and replaced wishbones!). Love the colour, but this one's been for sale unsuccessfully quite a few times, no?
  4. I'm a big fan of preventative maintenance, but an engine-out clutch job would definitely not be on my list :-). As Bibs rightly says, the first sign will almost certainly be slippage (at high revs/throttle) and the car will still drive gently, even then. I would not do the clutch until then.
  5. Fantastic memories from a fantastic weekend, no doubt. I greatly enjoyed Thursday/Friday. Sunday must have been epic.
  6. User a small roller, works great. Also, fabulous-looking car (fellow Empire-green enjoyer here)!
  7. Can't make it sadly, but am interested in other runs - again in September I think?
  8. Your car looked and sounded great at Goodwood! Shame about today's cancellation.
  9. Go and test-drive one; it's the only way to know. My money's on you keeping the 400.
  10. Having had an NA and now on a GT410, yes the 400 suspension is firmer, but it's still very usable day-to-day and the handling is sharper. NA is definitely the comfiest, but that may not be your priority.
  11. Track pads are designed a little too small, in order to allow greater expansion (i.e. more heat soak) than OEM. That's why they rattle. Like anything, it's a compromise.
  12. The bonnet nostril-type cut-outs/gills look weird to me.
  13. My GT 410 has rear seats. But it's not a GT 410 Sport (although the user manual is a GT 410 Sport one.....!)
  14. I'd advise doing it in stages. Start with 3rd-cat delete, then maybe 2bular back box, then maybe CAI. My old car had 2 of these and was mentally loud. Restored OEM CAI and I think it was about right (for me). All 3 would have been totally nuts, I reckon.
  15. Some great colours there. I might be a bit biased (my old car on Aquamarine)!
