  1. I can get a scissor jack under the fronts without raising the rear. The only difficulty is operating the handle part as the clearance is poor. I also made a pair of ramps out of 3 pieces of chipboard that I can drive the fronts onto, it makes access to the front jacking point easy.
  2. I use my USB for music, tried connecting a USB hub but the unit did not like it. But have had fitted an extra power unit that has 1 USB and 3 12v outlets. These are only live when the ignition is on. So I can also plug in a dash cam and power for my rear view mirror. The unit is lightweight so have just added some lightness.. The power runs through the car to the tailgate for the camera. Did find a useful little shelf on the r/h side near the bottom of the dash.
  3. I have tried 3 different mirrors/monitors, the best image was on one that was far too big - it fitted over the existing mirror. Another clip on one(cheap) was difficult to see between the digital image and the reflections etc. So at the moment I have just fitted a cheap small standard reverse monitor on one side of the mirror, it is currently held on with cable ties, so does not look brilliant...When I start driving the camera gets a bit cloudy, but after a mile or so, it becomes clearer. I may end up not using this set up as I get more used to the car. I think the mirrors seem a bit better than the ones on the S. I have also cable tied on an interior, slightly curved, mirror to the passenger sun visor to aid visibility when I join the main road when coming down the driveway, as the drive joins the road at a difficult angle.
  4. Hendy lotus exeter due to open in early 2021...
  5. There's an esprit now for sale at Howards Weston super mare at just under 50k, for sale on behalf of customer.
  6. Looks good in white as well. Owning a Lotus is a bit like an obsession...
  7. This is the only GT430 sport isn't it, it was on a video by Jay Emm So an even more rare car then the GT430.
  8. Have you tried doing this for the later post 2017 cars with part A132G6017F my maxitpms does not read/recognize the sensors in my evora (they are fitted as the come up on the cars display) and the evora options on the machine only have the older part number referenced in its display. I have to the latest version, only really bought it to program via cloning a set of black wheels for my wife's RR evoque, and it worked well for that. The reason I ask is that if i bought a spare set of wheels for the evora i thought i get the tpms working to keep the car happy.. keith.
  9. My wife said I could not buy it - she did not like the colour - she preferred a dark green gt410 sport, but i ended up with the olive green gt430.
  10. I recently went to look at an unregistered new gt410 sport and the dealer told me that lotus told them that it would have to be reg as a 20 plate not a 70 unless is had an IVA test. (even if registered today..)
  11. The one I ordered has arrived - the curve profile is not quite right for the evora, and the letters are a bit smaller than the ones in the photo. Can have a go at splitting into 3 pieces and it looks to fit better. Have not actually put it on yet.
  12. I see B&C have now sold the last unregistered GT430 - its liquid yellow and its on a 70 plate.
  13. Rybrook lotus seem to be open - including for servicing( ?) from their new dealerships, but the lotuscars web site for dealer locations does not mention them (yet), still has the existing 3 in the Bristol/Weston/S Wales areas. Rybrook even have 2 lotus for sale in Birmingham.
  14. I can't say I did, I don't tend to drive very fast anyway - well I have reached retirement age now. Although I have the A30/M5 nearby. I fitted my wing as I think it makes the car look better from most angles. - especially the rear. It did not make the rear view any worse either. I see you live in Hemel - I used to live there until 12 years ago when I moved to Devon, was a customer of London Lotus for many years until they closed...
  15. I used christow carriage company - had a c service on my red excel there and a radiator replaced, when they closed i bought their signs etc it was also where steve - now sj- was trained. The owner had the scrap yard behind, he had previously owned a Porsche dealer - i think called parcs - which is scrap backwards. (he told me that.. so it shows what he thought of their cars). For a while there was also olympic lotus (based in the olympic mazda - now part of the currently extended Porsche dealer. Went to Peninsular - not very friendly - told me off for taking a pic of a 2007 ish europa. Will have to accidentally drop in to hendy in the next few days/weeks. That should be useful have you still got your mini then..
  16. it might be, i had planned to keep it for awhile in case i bought a gt410 non sport as this would fit except for the centre holes and plate left behind when the 400 style wing is removed. it was suggested to me that i then get an evora / s tailgate to use. This may also depend on how i get on with the 430 in the coming months, and what (if) i get another lotus next time. or maybe the new car....
  17. No I have not used them, I bought my evora s from howards weston 18 mths ago, but when I was thinking of changing my car they had a new gt410 sport it was a goodish price, but i knew that they would be closing and with a new dealer in Bristol at cribbs causeway - that is a pain to get to but it would have had a 3 yr wtee. So i got a 18 plate gt430 from b&c. but now with a new dealer seeming to be opening in exeter...at least i'll have somewhere to visit locally. I don't know what is happening in Southampton, snows also have an official service centre in Plymouth.
  18. May be there are 2 different versions, elise spares have 3 still available - listed as for the evora gte/gt4 http://elise-spares.com/Rear-Wing-Spoiler-Lotus-2-11 GT4 the plot thickens as they say...
  19. it looks as if hendy will have something in Southampton in a while...so what will happen to snows, may be hendy will take over their site or open a new dealership??? https://www.hendy.co.uk/lotus/dealers/ Hendy Lotus Poole West Quay Road Poole Dorset BH15 1JF Call us View on mapFind out more Hendy Lotus Exeter Exeter Devon Hendy Lotus Southampton Southampton Hampshire may be there will be some good deals to be had.
  20. Mine had bolts in the end plates, as it was useful when my paint shop painted it. These are seen on the parts diagram, but i think that the bolts given here are the wrong size.
  21. Just found this one for exige.. and quite cheap.. don't how it would fit an evora. https://shop.zengraphics.co.uk/lotus-exige-s-stripes-sport-380-series-3-decals-stickers-replacement-graphics-exterior-styling-rear-wing-spoiler-bolt-on-vinyl-badges-accessories-custom-2013-2014-2015-2016-2017-2018-2019-2020-2
  22. drive past both locations today just to see if there were signs of any work starting, but not. The honda showroom does look a little tired anyway.
  23. where do you hope to get the large LOTUS decal for the top of the wing..I suppose the same sort of size would fit mine as well.
  24. The other thing i found that the c/f wing was heavier than i expected and the tailgate struts were a bit weak so i had to change them. Many years ago i owned a jps 91 f1 rear wing element, that i had mounted on a wall and it was incredibly light.
  25. it is possible but getting the cable fed thru to the right side upright was not easy, and where the recess is for the light was not big enough for the where the cable comes out of the light fitting, so in the end i fitted a set of joiners in 2 places. And it meant that i could easily refit the original one, and i'd have a spare light in case it failed. The lotus c/f wing also needed larger diameter bolts, the holes in the tailgate were big enough though. it was more difficult getting the cable connector in the right upright apart. Made a couple of wooden supports to keep the boot open just enough to get the bolts undone and to stop the wing moving too much.
