  1. Perhaps there should be a newer sales model - where the factory own and operate dealer sites - they would then learn a few things trying to manage on just Lotus sales, and dealing with Lotus head office. Peugeot own and run quite a number of their branded sites dating and has done so since the 70's.
  2. Hope he is coming to Exeter to set up a new Lotus dealership!
  3. https://cardealermagazine.co.uk/publish/ineos-boss-says-ev-demand-has-dried-up-as-he-calls-on-governments-to-rethink-electrification-plans/301561 Ineos boss says EV demand has ‘dried up’ as he calls on governments to rethink plans Sir Jim Ratcliffe takes major swipe at EVs Ineos owner calls for a ‘transition period’ between fossil fuels and greener alternatives He also claims ‘you can’t give a second-hand electric car away in the UK’
  4. On the Eletre FB group someone posted that Hethel was closing in 2 weeks - I assume he means the mini dealership there as it has gone off the dealership list on the Lotus website. If true then it would no longer be possible to pick your new car up from Scott at the factory?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-68979354 Boeing whistleblower says plane parts had serious defects would be reluctant to fly on a 737 Max, in case it still carried flaws that originated in the Wichita factory. "I'd never met a lot of people who were scared of flying until I worked at Spirit," he said. And then, being at Spirit, I met a lot of people who were afraid of flying - because they saw how they were building the fuselages."
  6. And you can accidentally get the cap in the way when pouring into a glass - for those who don't drink out of the bottle. Also find they are a bit more difficult to get back on - seem to want to get cross threaded a bit.
  7. Had a quick reply.... Hi Keith our club is more about the enthusiast than the car so we welcome all wheels and ages and we also recognise the younger members coming on board with the Ford Focus and the likes. Our Trago meets are set to get bigger especially as the weather warms up and they have given us the extra space to grow so please enjoy the day. Regards Allan.
  8. Their web site says...... To define a 'classic car' is extremely hard and right from the start we have always stated that this club is for the car enthusiast and all wheels are welcome. You will find a wide variety of vehicles on display at our monthly meets; from American mustangs, Aston Martin DB5 to the younger Ford Focus ST. The car in front of me was a Tesla, but he did not go in.......but have sent them a message.

  10. yes but once you eventually have finished the grass you be wound up, so that you can use it again next time.
  11. Agree, even the other drivers were happy. Toto went over to congratulate the McLaren pit wall crew. If they can get the upgrades to both cars done for the next race, could make the races more interesting.
  12. Only one I know of for sale at the moment is at Lotus Silverstone it may have been on sale in the past. https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10639163 but has hardly been used.
  13. South West Lotus have their own GT430 - which is not road legal and a left hand drive auto. Club Lotus SW have a monthly (ish) meet usually somewhere in Devon or Cornwall. https://www.facebook.com/groups/clublotussouthwest/events SW England can be very busy in August, just needs a little accident on one of the 2 main roads SW of Exeter and can be delays. (One thing is sure though you would not be able to visit the Lotus dealer in Exeter.)
  14. External radio interference can upset the transmission from the TPMS sensor to the car, have had this in our old Jeep. After a while it sorts itself out. When this happened all 4 disappeared but just 2 at a time about 30 seconds apart.
  15. and rather expensive - one has been eBay for months at £500 + pp from outside UK.
  16. On case nobody noticed the Max world tour continues this weekend.
  17. I know these days Covid seems a thing of the (near) past, but some have on going issues. In the press today... https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/05/04/us-shared-gobsmacking-lab-leak-evidence-with-uk-pandemic/ The US shared “gobsmacking” evidence with Britain at the height of the Covid pandemic suggesting a “high likelihood” that the virus had leaked from a Chinese lab, The Telegraph can reveal. In January 2021, Five Eyes intelligence-sharing nations were convened to discuss the possibility of a lab leak as the US warned that China had covered up research on coronaviruses and military activity at a laboratory in Wuhan
