  1. Thanks Bruss. I didn't know that could cause the same lights to come on. You might be onto something as the car is very lumpy after clutch engagement in second as well, which would marry with the clutch sensor.
  2. Well, it's had a new sensor and the lights are still on. I suspect the issue is actually something relay related, some clicking can be heard randomly coming from the back seat area... I'll update when I find out what is causing it
  3. Yeah, the OBD reader shows no faults. Not the best state of affairs to drive around in winter with no driver aids, the rain this morning for example! I'll order a switch and have a go at changing it, doesn't look too bad from the internet searches as long as I get the right part. PITA that it happens at Christmas time just after our other car got nicked!
  4. So, I've got the good old TC and ABS lights on. As it's the middle of winter, difficult to get a garage that's ready to deal with it and I need the car, do we know if it fails 'Safe' or fails 'dangerous' i.e. are all my driver aids on or off? Save doing some enthusiastic (and possibly dangerous) testing, I thought I would check if anyone knew.
  5. I've heard a similar noise a couple of times. Everything checked, bushes are new, no play all good. The noise only happened a couple of times then went away. The first time I stopped immediately as I thought, as you said, a spring had snapped. I heard it again a few months later and went away. Checked again, nothing to be found, all seems fine and the noise has gone again. Initially suspected to be a stray stone or something but it seems odd it came back. I'll let you know if I ever find it but it only happened a couple of times and then disappears for months on end so who knows! Currently no noises at all.
  6. Apparently, the police have concluded their investigation... It's definitely not there anymore. Job's a good'un 😂.
  7. Yeah, it's really annoying. Can't stand people who don't respect other people. Abarth are easy to steal it seems. Largely just need a device for the OBD to override the immobiliser. They don't fit alarms to them. Apparently 7-10% of registered ones get stolen a year 🤯
  8. Came out of the house today to take a hedgehog to the rescue centre, key in hand and there was an empty space where the Abarth was last night. No idea how as the keys are safe and it's not keyless. No glass on the floor. Bugger.
  9. I find first can be a bit grumpy, especially when cold. You sometimes just need to be patient...
  10. I can't answer you directly, I believe that it's using a DMS that struggles to be accurate above 40mph (Audi and BMW used it in their first gen DMS and switched supplier as it wasn't reliable enough). Probably means that it will be hands free below 40. I'm sure the other systems will be capable above that but the DMS likely to be the weak point in the system. ADAS is often one of the last things you see reviewed, oddly.
  11. Precisely what Bibs said. It's almost always the mud flaps that scrape. It's not quite as good as your average car on approach angle though so you do still need to be careful. Breakdown lorries need outriggers to get it onboard so it's still on the less practical side.
  12. It is remarkably huge BTW. Even by SUV standards it looked big
  13. Owner appeared to notice the Evora. I waved but we were a bit close to get off a proper wave!
  14. I was in the Evora parked right nearby. They didn't notice or acknowledge. A glimpse into the future of Lotus community I wonder. I saw the same happen to Alfa. The Alfa wave eventually disappeared. I hope it doesn't happen to Lotus
  15. It's easy enough. As Harey said, the immobiliser is the thing most likely to catch you out if it decides to re-arm. Outside of that little chestnut, make sure the filler cap grip is horizontal(ish) after filling up or the filler for might not close... But much else to say. You won't crash it on your first drive, it's a well behaved machine you have to be abusing it on the road to really upset it.
  16. Interesting. I find it's pretty constant. The cleaner it is the more I get, but living in an area rammed with expensive metal I can guarantee attention if I'm in the Evora. Even to the point it gets a bit risky as folks driving on the other side gawping sometimes drift across the dividing line. Maybe it's a colour difference? White is rather bright.
  17. Bit late to this particular party as I've been crazy busy. To demonstrate how this market can work. I REALLY wanted this car when it was originally on sale, but was not in a position to buy. I had been watching it for ages. It went just before I could get in there. Had a miss or two on other cars and then it came back on sale and I bought it before it even hit the market. I think it shows the buyer for your car is probably out there and might even be working on buying it, as others have said, it's a funny market and people will probably fall in love with a particular car. The SR is worth the premium to me, quality a big step up from my experience.
  18. First picture looks like someone has run a polishing pad over them. It has a circular look to it that looks a bit worrying. If it's just the coating, not a big issue. Even if it's give through to the headlight it might be polished out if it's not too deep but you need someone who knows what they are doing to look at it
  19. Driving around a corner, bunch of lads, around 11 or 12 I guess (rubbish with ages) shout out, "love your car mate, really cool" I call back a thanks guys. They shoot back "give it a rev!" So I did, to much cheering and thumbs up.
  20. Was the most but if the M25 South side with the bumps exactly spaced to fill the Evora with vibrations? That bit drives me spare and goes on for ages.
  21. From driving the close ratio for a few years, I would say in day to day driving it makes little difference. Even back road runs you'll be fine because 2nd goes pretty high already. I think the difference will be that if you are really on it, which of course never happens on a public road... the close ratio box pulls equally hard in every gear. 3rd onward is still just a constant ramp well up into the mid triples... on a track. The long ratio as I understand it has a gap into 3rd and then will be more lethargic but give you another few mpg which is definitely a nice offset. Seems you can get 40mpg on the long box but 35ish on the close box
  22. Really? Mine are metal grills like the centre and 'real' vents (yet another complexity to specification obviously!)
  23. The problem is the price. I know it's low miles, but it's an 'old' 400 with that horrid writing on the dash and you can pick up a GT410 for not much more. Someone is going to have to bite the bullet and drop the price at some point!
  24. If you can drive along at 30 in 6th it's SR.
