  1. Spotted by my wife on her way back towards Exeter from Totnes, is that you @exeterjeep? Good to hear you were out on a cold winters day!
  2. I see that LDC have added a Cornwall trip to their 2023 schedule. I can't do the actual trip (it's basically a full weeks holiday with accommodation etc) but may well pop down to join in with one or two of their driving days (once I know where they are going!). Anyone else fancy it?
  3. I've noticed that LDC have a club stand at the Prescott Hill Climb club day on April 2nd and have booked to go along (not to go up the hill but to park the Evora up with other Lotus and watch the fun on the hill :-)) Anyone else planning to be there?
  4. Hi @exeterjeepand @DDubya, my wife and I did indeed have a drive in the Hendy Exeter car today. Jess took us out as Lloyds having a few days off. As a newbie to Lotus, having had my S1 Evora for just over a year and 11k miles or so, I have to say that I think the car absolutely hits the spot. It has a more restrained level of steering feedback but the ride, grip (as far as I could tell on a zero degree morning) and feel were all spot on and the performance was stronger than my n/a with a perfectly acceptable level of noise (loud enough!) and burble in sport mode. Superb gearchange too, really mechanical and precise feeling. loved it… (the TPMS was on during my drive too!)
  5. they are busy, I have work stuff and I think their tech isn't there every day at the moment... It will be Dec 9th if nothing gets in the way - I must drop Lloyd a note to see if they are booked up for Emira test drives on that date!
  6. well, well, well... Christmas has come early for my car as the LH door latch kit has arrived at Hendy in Exeter... not sure whether I or the service manager was the most surprised! Thanks to @Bibs for chasing the factory (many times)... looking forwards to being able to lock my car with the fob and have interior lighting again in a couple of weeks 🙂 For anyone still waiting, it might be worth checking the parts system to see if they are listed now? Cheers...
  7. Very good to see and sit in the production Emira and roadshow Eletre yesterday at Hendy Exeter - the great news on the Emira is that at 6'2" I definitely fit (it wasn't that certain in the pre-production cars!)
  8. I see reference to a roadshow... are locations and dates known / available? It would be interesting to see and you never know, the dealer might just have an Emira to see too...!
  9. Just a quick note to thank everyone for their support and suggestions for the indicator fix. I didn't have time / didn't fancy taking the light out myself and so ended up at @SWLC who did a perfect job separating the headlight and sorting the failed solder joint - MOT now passed 🙂 Hope it's useful to know that there's a great Lotus specialist available who has successfully fixed this issue!
  10. I'm pleased to say that South West Lotus have agreed to have a go at this so the car is heading over to their shop at the end of the month. Interestingly, they (despite being a very well respected indie) hadn't seen this issue before and so I guess that re-affirms the underlying reliability of these lights and my lack of luck! I'll update on how this goes...
  11. I don't think it's worth spending too much time on the market impact of the cosmetic appearance of our cars... They are pretty rare things and so if a buyer wants one, they will probably have to wait for the exact spec they want or compromise a little! Mine (Aqua/Oyster) already had the side skirts in black, the forged wheels in anthracite and a set of particularly lovely yellow callipers which I think work really well with the wheel centres. Overall, I really like the look but the black side skirts are making me think about lower black pack too. I doubt I'll do it, as I have a bunch of other things to fix that are more impactful like a broken indicator and sprung airbag covers! (and my wife likes the existing look so that will probably drive the decision too 😁)
  12. @EuropaSman - good spot on the blasted airbag cover on the LE! It's the first picture I've seen of an Aqua with the lower black pack (I don't particularly like the black roof) and I'm still quite tempted to do that for mine...
  13. Have these been flagged up? - two newish adverts on PH: Aquamarine / Oyster with black pack: https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/13851879, looks like a good price Low mileage white LE: https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/13875424, bit more expensive but low mileage and looks excellent
  14. Thank you @TomE, I've asked the same question of a local auto-electrician but they weren't terribly confident. Appointment is next week so if I haven't found another solution by then I will head over there with crossed fingers! I'll also ask a couple of others including Silverstone who have form in fixing the sidelight issue... PM sent as it would be great to know who you used as I'm perfectly prepared to travel or pop the headlight in a box and post it if I can't find someone local to help...
  15. @EuropaSman - thanks for that info about Lotus Silverstone. @exeterjeep mentioned their sidelight repair service but I didn’t make the leap to them possibly fixing the indicator. Will give them a call!
  16. Hi all, I put this into an old topic but the title may not grab attention so I thought I'd try this 🙂 My drivers side front indicator is no longer lighting up and I suspect that the solder has failed as has been described in other threads... I'm not a dab hand at electronics and so wondered if anyone had found someone who could fix this issue? I have the old style lights with the 'LOTUS' script and don't want to have to buy a new light which won't have it and obvs also the cost! Clearly I'm happy to pay to get this done though... MOT is coming up... Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
  17. Resurrecting an old thread as I seem to have almost the exact problem - RHS indicator not working after an air conditioning repair! The instructions from @agentdr8 are great and I'm going to try to find a local shop who could have a go at that.. however, to give me another option in case no-one around here is able to help... has anyone had this repair done and could recommend the repairer.. I'm fine to post the headlight if needed!
  18. Parked a couple of spaces away from you in my blue one… sorry not to have had a chance to say hello!
  19. The shame! All that lovely weather... get her out of the garage! (Mine's been having the a/c compressor replaced so had a couple of weeks off for that but is now back in full service...) heading over your way (ish) tomorrow actually, then possible trip to deepest Cornwall on Sunday.
  20. @mayevora - My drivers side one was just like that (OK, not quite that bad 😁!) at the last service, just before the trip to Thruxton... Nearside was worn but not unevenly... just a tad of realignment needed and hopefully the new ones will wear in parallel!
  21. @Tim K..... not jealous at all 🙂
  22. It would still seem that Lotus are slowly working through some sort of re-manufacturing process with the latches and sending them out on a strict 'in the sequence in which they were ordered' approach... mines still a few weeks away! Unsurprisingly, having read the Emira communications thread, Lotus aren't covering themselves in glory in keeping their dealers up to date on what's going on...
  23. Thanks for the heads-up @Tim K., I'll ask Hendy to check again - this would be good as the car is going in to have a/c looked at on Monday!
  24. @MPx, wow, that’s a very generous offer… pm sent!
  25. @exeterjeep - could you let me know who you used for car transport locally? I may have just bought an Elan +2 that's not quite roadworthy and need to get it from Salisbury way to East Devon...
