  1. It looks like a gear cable selection issue which easy fixable. Remove or lift up the gear lever surround cover and you should see the linkage operation may just want adjusting.
  2. Welcome to Jim at 2Bular, his communication is crap but he is not a scammer and he wears a tartan skirt and eats Haggis and porridge and drinks whisky and his exhaust are brilliant.
  3. Its the Evora size but I have some old VX220 bolts and they are the same size. The fixed taper is ok just smidge some copper slip on the taper.
  4. Try these guys for decals and logo divinehandcraft.co.uk. or eBay for centre caps.
  5. The B117G6000F thats Seriously Dave is selling are for a VX220, Elise and early Exige. Give Dave a ring and he will confirm if his wheel bolts will fit.
  6. With my experience of belt noise on various engines over the years can be caused by many reasons and various solutions have been successful on some engines and not on other. As on engines with a belt adjustable tensioner Vs a loaded belt tensioner. The make and quality of the belt also varies from belt manufacture as from my experience that the Gates belts are good belts but can give more noise compared to other makes. If your engine has been not started for a long time you could get small damp rust on the pulleys and causes noise until its polished off with a few miles driving. Also if the engine has not been used for a long time you also get the belt sitting on the pulleys and causing a slight misshape tension until the belt gets the temperature increase and helps the belt operate around the pulleys evenly. I would also try using the air-con for a few miles to get the extra load on the belt to see if this helps the situation. The other ideas can also help but don't shoot me if it does not work for you. Try using a squirt of WD40 on the belt or even talcum powder but this can get messy.
  7. There's no shims required. Its all adjustable but its very little room for working on when the wheels fitted. The camber is adjustable with the centrical washer on the fixing bolts. The toe is adjusted by the using the rear toe rods. Some owners that using 20/19" wheels can experience a slight inner rear tread wear compared to using 19/18" wheels.
  8. I had a similar experience of this last year and it was excess grease of the handbrake cables that I applied and when got hot of the engine it dripped on the under tray then few drops on the garage floor.
  9. I agree with others, Belt or pulley squeal for sure, especially as the noise increases with rpm. Where in Cumbria do you live as live in Penrith do other local Lotus repairs.
  10. I bought a immaculate s/h set in 2022 with no tyres for £1200, As these wheels are rare second hand like hens teeth and depends on your tyres I would price up from £1500. They really help the cars drive feeling and appearance Vs the 19/18 on the NA.
  11. The future of EV is only short term, its a fashion trend like Betamax and eight track back in the 60/70s. The extra emissions are now created by the the infrastructure generating the production of the the EV requirements. Why have we introduced more oil and gas projects and most engine manufactures investing and working on hydrogen engines. is it Ecological or not so Ecological This is a T.e.s.l.a. model Y.O.M. 2021 battery pack for the infamous electric cars. It takes up all the space under the car cabin. For it to happen you need: - Remove 12 tons of soil to extract the necessary lithium. - 5 tons of soil to extract the necessary cobalt. - 3 tons of soil to extract the necessary nickel. - 12 tons of ore to extract the necessary copper. That is, you have to move 250 tons of earth to get: - 20 kg of lithium - 16 kg of nickel - 26 pounds of manganese - 8 pounds of cobalt Battery production also requires: - 238 kg of aluminum, steel and/or plastic - 60 kg of graphite - A Caterpillar 994A consuming 264 litres of diesel in 12 hours And that's it, you'll finally have a "zero emissions and no verification decal" car. It takes seven years for an electric car to reach zero CO2 emissions. Estimated battery life is 10 years (average). Only in the last three years have you started reducing your carbon footprint. Then the batteries have to be replaced at a cost between 10 thousand and 20 thousand dollars according to the model and you lose all the profits gained in those three years, thus closing the cycle of the largest ELECTRIC-ECOLOGICAL SCAM and we go back to point 1 and start from new. Congratulations!! , you've been fooled, ecologically yes.
  12. Ha ha they couldn't afford to pay me.
  13. In my past career I worked for two of largest tractor/machinery manufacturing companies in the world at top level and if a parts supply hit my desk I would be banging heads together with the management of the related departments. If the part is for a VOR order on a current production product and couldn't supply the part within 24 hours, the part would be taken from production or a stock machine or even a demo unit. As like any manufacturing there is always stock machine parked up somewhere in the organisation. If its a recall type upgrade parts replacement this was not introduced to the dealer network until all relevant parts were available but within a maximin within 21 days for all the machine identified for the recall. The car industry does not give a shit about its customers as they think we are all dumb idiots and they control the markets. I only buy my new cars from garages that bent over backwards with my demands for excellent service/parts and loan car backup. So no new Lotus on my shopping list at the moment.
  14. As an engineer I totally agree with this, I would use a small smidge of copper slip on the taper to prevent any galling to the wheel and not under or over torque the studs. I use the black studs from eBay and had no problems.
