  1. But with Toyota engine, sourced through Lotus as they need the super charger. The price of the engine and gearbox from VW would definitely kill all the margin...

  3. thnx! Will keep it in mind. Just maybe the birth is a bit early, then I won't have any problems joining you all. Looking forward to this event.
  4. Very tempted to join you all again. It was very great last year, really enjoyed it. The only thing holding me back, is the fact that my wife is expected give birth to our first born, if all goes as expected it should happen on the 29th of November give or take 2 weeks... :-s When do you need to know at latest?

  6. I like the red SE High Wing pics But it could be that I'm not totally objective... Proud to be the only car in the line up, with the steering wheel at the wright side... Great stuff Alexander! Thnx!
  7. The situation is getting worse in Enstone where they are clearly doing a Bahar. Or in other words letting the experienced staff go. Now Jarrod Murphy, the team’s head of computational fluid dynamics, is off to Mercedes. In about half a year a completely new car has to be ready, certainly when the rules change so much, it's crucial now to be 101% focussed on the new car. That's clearly not happening in Enstone. I think Kimi saw that coming and is leaving a sinking ship, unless new money found quickly...
  8. Yes it is, but I bet they knew that already, when they hired him... If I can't afford something, I just don't buy it... Ps Trevor it's Enstone that's not paying, not Lotus! ;-)
  9. I would suggest to make new moulds like they did on SID so much easier to work on ;-)
  10. Thanks for sharing Jonny. Some great picture from Alexander can be found here and another report here

  15. Would it be possible to still add people for diner? or is the diner cancelled in favour of the Cortina Buffet?
  16. I don't know if he was still actively involved with Lotus but it's sad in any way. Former BMW motorsport chief Karl-Heinz Kalbfell was killed on Saturday in a motorcycle accident at Brands Hatch, at the age of 63. Kalbfell was competing in a practice session for historic machinery when he ran wide exiting Druids and fell on the run down to Graham Hill Bend, before being struck by a fellow competitor who was following closely behind. He was taken by ambulance to Darneth Valley hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries. After working as an engineer in the caravan industry, Kalbfell joined BMW in 1977 and remained with the manufacturer until 2004. During that time he worked his way up to become head of the 'M Performance' motorsport division, overseeing BMW's switch from the DTM into Super Touring competition at the end of 1992. He then played a key role in the development of the engine that powered the McLaren F1 to Le Mans 24 Hours victory in '95 and - after climbing to a more senior position - BMW's re-entry to Formula 1 as an engine supplier with Williams in 2000. After leaving BMW he had a spell as CEO of Alfa Romeo and Maserati and was recently a board member of Group Lotus. BMW issued the following statement: "We received the news of the tragic accident with great sadness. "BMW Motorsport mourns an amazing person and a passionate racer. For many years he was a formative figure and a driving force behind BMW Motorsport and BMW M. "In these difficult circumstances, our thoughts are with his family." Jonathan Palmer, CEO of Brands Hatch owner Motorsport Vision, said: "I am deeply saddened to hear of this tragic news. "I knew Karl-Heinz, though not well, and had great respect for his achievements in the motor industry and particularly with BMW. "He was a really good guy who did a huge amount for motorsport during his time at BMW. "Karl-Heinz's passion for machinery and sport was demonstrated by his love for classic motorcycle racing and it is particularly cruel that he should lose his life enjoying his hobby, and one which has a good safety record too. "I extend my deepest sympathies to Karl-Heinz's family." source
  17. Really looking forward to this as well... can we leave the stand for this Bibs?
  18. Racing an Esprit Not meaning to offend you in any way, but do take some driver training and you will blow away that Peugeot, as if it does not exist. Kudos to you!
