  1. Certainly not holding back there anyway Daniel - brave stuff in a 33 year old Classic
  2. It's a waste of good paint too Buddsy! To think that someone would have parted with their "hard-earned" to get this result......?!
  3. That Esprit of yours is the business. I'm beginning to wonder if the S2 is in fact the most attractive of all the Esprits? I've been an early Turbo man for years but I'm coming round....... I think it's the wheels and the black along the bottom that does it for me...... Awesome!
  4. As Murray would say.........FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Wow that's a beauty and those wheels set the shiny green paint off perfectly. Good job and nice find!
  6. Yeah fair enough - not looking to say you said anything just pointing out what I know & found out myself
  7. Ok thanks anyway. Where was it advertised or how did you come across it if you don't mind me asking. I only ask as its very similar to the car I'm hoping to have soon but its in Essex and I'm in Scotland so surprised I missed this one.....
  8. Ref. the Red Esprit just posted do you have a link to the advert you could post up? I appreciate it will be sold but I'd like to know more about the car
  9. Well it must be somewhere Darren as I was assured it did sell when it was in Dundee. Whether it is now being used as past of another scam is a different matter of course...... It's not been taxed since 1995!!! Vehicle enquiry The enquiry is complete. The vehicle details for A350 XJB are: Date of Liability 30 09 2005 Date of First Registration 10 08 1983 Year of Manufacture 1983 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 2174cc CO₂ Emissions Not Available Fuel Type PETROL Export Marker N Vehicle Status Unlicensed Vehicle Colour RED Vehicle Type Approval Not Available
  10. Jeez oh Darren that's interesting! I was assured it was a genuine sale when it was in Dundee but no idea what happened after that. Steer well clear I guess is the answer!
  11. No Buddsy ha ha...it appears there was a deal done with the guy that originally uncovered it and the guy that put it up for sale - from what I heard the guy that discovered the car never got paid but the car was then sold down South. Goodness knows what the story is now.......? Needs carefully checked out by any potential buyer I recognise that much anyway......
  12. I know someone who knows the original seller - apparently the seller wasn't paid for the original sale but the car now appears to have been moved from Dundee up here in Scotland to Warrington down South. I was also told that the chassis is indeed twisted after a front end bump/smash - no doubt someone could fix with right skills but it appears to be too big a job for the current seller. Ad content and photos as you say are from original ad.
  13. Something doesn't look right about that Essex........not sure what it is but something tells me it's not an original. Am I right or wrong? Body coloured wing mirrors could've been a retro change but the Essex side decals don't look right either........ The white S3 looks stunning!!!
  14. That's just wrong! Too many scams these days, that people just keep getting away with! Too good to be true clearly.......
  15. It's been for sale for an eternity - I remember seeing this last year for sale on gumtree. It's gradually got cheaper snd cheaper as the months have gone by. I blame the advert itself and where it's placed........not exactly promoting itself is it?
  16. Hope this helps........ http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/12170/lot/608/ Clearly the bottom half as resprayed black and the side decals look the smaller later ones but the top half looks right and it's the same interior as yours by the looks of it
  17. Yeah the early ones were great Chris - the later ones less so......
  18. Sorry about taking this further off topic - another pic of yours Tim and we will be back on track! Here is the magazine and the offer. It wasn't just for subscribers after all and was for anyone willing to pay hard cash for them - they were to celebrate the 1st Anniversary of the magazines issue as stated in the magazine before the one pictured as I checked http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l262/TPVITESSE/imagejpg2-2.jpg[/img I clearly need to upgrade my account so I can edit my mistakes.......ha ha!! 2nd time lucky............
  19. Me too Chris - created a lasting impression with me for sure!! I used to get the magazine every month and still have every issue from the 1st with the white 911 on the front cover until they moved away from the white covers. I never did order the poster though and I'm properly kicking myself now!
  20. That particular Green is a stunning colour Jonny I agree and with the green leather inside too it's just so right for the period but still makes it desirable today! The price list I was referring to is this one - apologies for going slightly off topic : I'm hoping I will be posting up some posts of my own early Turbo Esprit soon - hopefully closing in on the final negotiations on the deal now and fingers crossed about to realise a dream I had when I was 12 of owning an Esprit the same as the one featured in the Fast Lane magazine........bring it on!!!! If anyone can point me in the direction of someone who still has the poster of the photo below that Fast Lane gave away to subscribers that year please let me know!
  21. This is the closest I've seen to yours Tim I personally love to see it restored yo it's original colour - it's so period and would attract attention massively!
  22. Perhaps someone more knowledgable can confirm this but I personally think there was a choice when it came to ordering and specifying the paintwork on early Esprits. My gut feeling tells me that the customer could choose either to go black or body colour with the wing mirrors and bumpers (possibly even the hatch louvres on later cars) and also whether to have the wheels (clearly when I say early Esprits I mean post compomotive) all silver or with a coloured centre. On the price list at the time (1981 is the one I have)!it states "individually styled paint & coachwork" which ties in with my thinking...... I would love someone in the know from back then to confirm though. There are too many that still remain that appear unchanged from new ie. once owners carry out paint modification work and they can see what's under the top cost of paint, for this not to be true in some way I think
  23. Painting the bumpers back to black was a good move - great work. Keep updated with photos please.
