  1. Hard to be much of a peacekeeper when those whose wrists you're trying to slap are members, along with their buddies, who can log vetoes, walk out, ignore resolutions, etc. Either Putin will just exhaust his resources and his populace's patience or someone may eventually pick up a bat and join the brawl. Sadly, if Chechnya is any indication, this could take years.
  2. Good thinking to make the reveal on 29 March rather than waiting a few days. There was a time that the headline "Lotus unveils all-electric SUV" would have been no surprise on 1 April. 🤷‍♂️
  3. Well, except between 1966 and 2009. I participated in Operation Deny Flight in the 90's based out of a French base and even so we weren't allowed to interact with the French, being non-NATO at the time. At least they came around eventually. 👍 It's always been fashionable to poo-poo NATO (almost every member's done it), or most any "unequal alliance" for that matter, but when the bear is beating up on your neighbor, who you gonna call? 👻
  4. His cronies (and him) are so rich it would take billions to spark their interest. Mazepin lost his F1 team and a massive yacht but probably hasn't made a dent in his lifestyle. Agree that it would take one/some/many of the "have nots" to rise and make a difference. The irony is not lost.
  5. Yup. The old joke about why does a dog lick himself? Because he can...

  7. Heart always sinks a bit now when @Alfa2Evora post pops up in the "Unhappy" thread. Fortunately banks do a pretty good job catching and mitigating these sorts of things. 👍
  8. Credible, trustworthy & respectful Dam, I'm out...
  9. https://www.facebook.com/wstransportnorfolk/ A nice, albeit small, gesture from some Norfolk lads. Like the Charlie Hebdo movement, I sense a "we are all Ukranian" vibe coming
  10. Odd angle being up on a lift, could be Isuzu Piazza getting "handling by Lotus" development work about that time.
  11. Would not be surprised if there was a little "don't get in our way and we won't get in yours" at the last Putin-Xi photo op love fest. 🤔
  12. What I want to know is how they got a drone into the restaurant! 🤔
  13. This is the time of most frustration. A stroke is an injury to the brain much like a closed head injury or concussion, yet from the inside. It needs time to evolve and heal during which time she may be all over the place mentally. One thing typical is that things are worst when they first occur and will get better to some degree, we just never know how much and how long. It is good that she is on a stroke unit as she should be surrounded by personnel with specific experience that can help you both in the process. We are all pulling for you both. ❤️
  14. Sounds all well and good and very exciting. But my glass-half-empty spidey sense picks up a Dany-esque catering to the posh (anyone for a T125?). Will be waiting to see the "trickle down" effect on the non-posh.

As I'm sure "Lotus" is in there somewhere! (I think "bwazi" would've been lost on me, tho')
  18. And, is it? Seems like it would be pretty tractable what with nice torque figures coming in at 2500-3000. Nice tune!
  19. Interesting phenomenon, this. In the past, at least in the States, a car company was legally obligated to supply replacement parts for any vehicle they sold for at least 10 years to avoid just such a screwing of the consumer. Not sure what's supposed to happen once the EV equivalent of Moore's Law takes hold and our new transportation appliances, or parts thereof, are expected to be renewed or recycled every few years to keep up. No environmental impact there, I'm sure. 🤦‍♂️
  20. Sweating it out as we're scheduled to see the Rocket Man himself on Sunday (rescheduled from 2020) though announced earlier this week he tested positive and canceled two shows this week. Our show and one before are not yet canceled, so hopefully he was positive last week and out of quarantine soon! 🤞
  21. Happy Birthday, Mate! Looking forward to the discussion as to how the current generation know F-all about birthdays!
  22. Recently finished Money Heist once Part 5 finally dropped. Worth sticking out to the end.
  23. Quite simple for it to already be in play, really. My Mk3 Focus RS has 4 drive modes and always starts up in "normal," which, in the future vehicles could be programmed with "ISA" as it already is for all the eco, start/stop drivel. It's part of my start up sequence to toggle out of "normal" into "sport," where the fun begins. Sign of the times. Nobody drives in "normal," anyway. 🤷‍♂️
  24. Ate at his NYC restaurant last month. Quite the spectacle, but the menu prices burn worse than the salt!
  25. And with a nice cut for the lawyers!
