  1. A Tow Hook is in the 1988-1992 Parts Manual section 10.31A Towing Eye & Fixings. My scanner is stored somewhere so I can't put a picture in this post. Freek
  2. I have the Larini system (single exit and larini cat) awesome sound although not too loud, it sounds deeper and like a real car not like an electric mixer. Freek
  3. Iain, Maybe you can try the following: Loosen the nut on the hose which holds it on the bracket and also loosen the connection of the hose and the brakepipe (both on the opposite side of the caliper) and twist the hose a little so the bend in the hose points a little downwards and then tighten up everything again and check. After this you probably have to bleed the brakes and be aware that brakefluid loves to eat paint etc. Freek
  4. Hello Lionel, The infamous red hose between the clutch Master- and Slavecylinder has a tendancy to expand (a little) when pressurized in hot climates/temperatures. This causes less travel of the slave cylinder resulting in the clutch not disengaging completely and resulting in a stiff/difficult gear change when the engine is running. On a lot of cars the red hose is replaced by a stainless steel braided one. Freek
  5. I used nyloc nuts and bolts (StSt.) in conjunction with large washers for spreading the loads. Like said before the rivnuts will eventually come loose again. As for a seal use a thin wide singlesided adhesive foam seal. The only disadvantage is that you need help when unbolting the nuts and bolts. Freek
  6. I have them all 4 for my 1990 SE, Delco Fuel Injection (= section EMH D082T0327J), Electrical sections, Service Notes Esprit 1988 - 1992 and the Parts List 1988 - 1992. What is not covered in the manuals is more then covered on LEF/LEW and by the technical department of LOTUS. Freek
  7. Hello Yasuo, The O2 voltage should be jumping up (rich) and down (lean) between 1 and 0.1 Volts when all is OK and the sensor is warmed up. I suspect your O2 sensor (maybe wiring) but code 44 can also be a result of a low fuel pressure, a wrong MAP signal, water in your fuel or an engine misfire according to EMH (page 72 and 73) manual. In the past I have seen postings about the use of an aftermarket sensor versus a original sensor and the consensus was to use an original sensor which worked for me. Freek
  8. The condenser and the compressor have a major leak, the system in not even holding pressure and i don't know for how long the system is not working. The condenser is in the Lotus parts sale and not very expensive. The compressor is leaking on the shaftseal. There are overhaul kits for the Sanden compressor but on the majority of the Sanden compressors the shaft is also damaged and if you replace that part the total costs for the repair is almost the same as for a new one. The Hoses are 17 years old so it is also better to renew them. The dryer also needs to be replaced. The evaporator is still a little question mark. All added up I think it is better to renew the system and to convert to R134a, but many thanks for the suggestion Rens. Freek
  9. Hello, The AC in my car is dead, leaking condenser and compressor, so i'm planning to rebuild the system and convert it to a R134a system. Before I begin taking the whole car apart I would like to know if someone can describe (pictures would be great) the connections on the condenser and the evaporator(R12 system) ie. are they cone shaped or something different. I ask this because not all connections can be converted to R134a connections. Many thanks in advance, Freek Muurling
  10. Hello Bibs, Check the website of R&B (www.ramspott-brandt.de/) they have a new Sports 300 turbocharger as well as reconditioning options. Freek
  11. Hi Graham, no problem if you sent me an email adress i will mail it to you. The file is around 3MB big. Freek
  12. Hi Malc, I send you a logfiile in .xls format. Freek
  13. Hello, You need to make a voltage regulator which has a variable output. A simple design is OK. Search for a LM317 datasheet and there you will find everything you need. Freek.
  14. Rens, When I mounted my O2 sensor and swapping them I used Keramisch vet / Ceramic Grease made by Kroon-Oil. Works great. See the specs on http://www.kroon-oil.com/nl/producten/prod...=365&m=desc . Freek
  15. Graham, you are right about the heating of the sensor. My car ran poorly also right after startup after fitting a new cat and exhaust system with a new good aftermarket sensor. Freessan showed a working sensor ie jumping voltage between 0 and 1 volts. It doesn't take a long time for the sensor to start working after starting. After searching and checking everything I still came back emptyhanded until i put the old sensor (which I kept) back in and voila the car ran perfect again. Finally I put in a new original LOTUS sensor and all is fine since than. Freek
  16. How about your lambda sensor. Do a search on the forum, there are several topics about poor running cars despite working lambda sensors. After replacing the lambda sensor with an original from Lotus the cars run properly again. Freek
  17. Another way to check the tension is with a laptop and a computer, search for tuneit on this forum to find the way i did it. I modified a 10mm ringspanner in order to have better access. The modifying I did was heating the spanner and adjusting the angle. Freek
  18. Graham, Check out Dermot's site http://www.lotusesprit.org/ and see the engine chapter. Dermot fitted an MSD system. Freek
  19. Hi malc, I had a similar problem after fitting a new exhaust and cat with a new lambda sensor. According to freescan the new sensor was fine, in the end I put in a new one from LOTUS and the problem was gone. See also http://www.lotusespritforum.com/forums/ind...ost&p=78659 . Freek
  20. Ramspott & Brandt have them. http://www.ramspott-brandt.de/ . Look under the gearbox / Clutch section in the shop. This is the one you need: Best.-Nr.: 10909 Gewicht: 0.10 kg Hersteller: Service-Kit Getriebesimmering Esprit alle Esprit ab Bj. 88 Freek.
  21. Go for the Larini exhaust. One thing, before fitting this exhaust modify the brackets with a "shertsplaat" (sorry don't know the english word for it, weld a small plate in the open part of the bracket) in order to prevent cracking. Freek
  22. Chris are you sure your car is a G car, according your info under your avatar it is a 1990 SE which is an S car. Don't go smashing your rearlights or cut holes in the rear in order to gain access to the boot. Amuch better way is to cut the nuts from under the bootfloor. You may have to remove your exhaust. After that you won't be able to lift the boot floor completely but enough to acces the two tailgate release mechanisms. In the end you only have to replace a couple of nuts and bolts which is much cheaper and not causing permanent damage to your car. I agree it takes maybe a little bit more time but it is well worth it. Freek
  23. Great work Mark, Did stumble across this guide http://www.lotusespritworld.com/EGuides/EM...argeCooler.html about an electric charge cooler pump on LEW. Information coming from LOTUS. Freek
