Well done and very nice suspension.

The Penske 3-ways are being sent away for overhaul and re-valving.

I've decided on Semi-bushed adjustable top and bottom links.  It is a road car after all.

How long did it take you to get the body off and what is your plan for the chassis

Hey Chris,

1 full day for the body removal and another full day to strip the chassis, although I lost some time with the pedal box-to-chassis bolts.

I'm going to POR-15 the chassis once it's degreased and cleaned-up.  I did consider another hot zinc dipping, but it's expensive to organise and then you also need to reconfirm all of the dimensions in case of movement.  POR-15 is extremely cost-effective.

The suspension components will be handled with a combination of POR-15 treatment and plating.

Out of interest will you be treating the inside of the chassis? on our land rover we have given it generous coats of waxoyl with a pressure lance.

Hi Mike,

I still entertain the idea of having mine re-galvanised, what would you estimate at the costs involved with that? POR is also a consideration but I am wondering how the purists might react and I feel somewhat responsible for a pretty good example of an almost standard Sport 350 so umming and ahhing a lot. 🤪

Galvanising that size including transportation and special handling was looking like upwards of 3500€.

I was very fortunate.    Even the ABS sensors came out of the hubs by hand.

@Steve V8 got it - there’s proof if ever you need it that he’s fibbing....

Digging out the prepared parts now that I'm actually starting to think about installation.

No shortage of stopping power.

I'm not very photogenic.  Certainly not as handsome as Gonzalo Mendoza.

Separated the hubs from the hub carriers and removed the old wheel bearings.

I'm really not sure what to do with those items at the moment.  I guess I could POR-15 them but in the end they are going to weather.

More preparation of the chassis.  It's now fully degreased and ready for the next stage of the POR-15 treatment.

Also got around to checking the steering rack and getting it tidied up.  Ready for re-installation
