Welcome to the 410 Sport club! Love the colour!

Personal choice but i would remove the side decals. You can order a spare set from Lotus if you ever wanted to put them back on or sell the car!

Again the seats are a personal choice. I had a GT410 Sport with the same seats as your car but always had the feeling i sat to high in then. My 410 Sport has the carbon buckets, which i like better.

The head unit is aftermarket i think, so who ever has installed that may have installed better speakers in the doors. Best to check if there is an actual sub in the back, behind the driver, as mine did not come with one.

I normally get a PPI before any car purchase, i think the closed Lotus specialist near to there is -  SWLC Performance Ltd

I normally go by the attached Lotus servicing sheet per year.

Cheers,

Phil

Thanks for the warm welcome chaps. I'm getting very excited at the prospect of owning the car, but I'm trying to keep my sensible head on.

The car has always been serviced by Lotus, but it wasn't serviced between December 2019 and July 2022 (albeit only covering 4k miles in that time). It's also due the big 4 yr service (thanks to Phil for the service document), so I'll call Bell & Colville tomorrow to find out the cost of that.

The colour is fantastic and it's a rare automatic, so hopefully I can sort something with the seller 🤞

Hi folks... I've just put a holding deposit on this very car which popped up for sale at Castle Motors yesterday!

It was a bit of a spur of the moment thing, and I've actually never driven a Sport 410 before 🫣 I've been on the lookout for the newer GT410 Sport auto, but these seem to be like rocking horse poo in automatic guise. But I was able to drive a grey automatic GT410 Sport that Hilton & Moss had up for sale earlier in the year, but I wasnt quite in the position to buy then so I had to let that pass (no regrets really as I really like the Evora in a brighter colour). I also drove a Motorsport Green manual GT410 Sport that Silverstone Lotus had for sale, which convinced me that the automatic was the right choice for me.... but I did fall in love with the colour😍

Which led me to putting a deposit on this beauty: https://www.castlemotors.com/used-lotus-evora-liskeard-cornwall-6362436

First thing I'll say is, I'm really not sold on those yellow side stripes...so they would have to come off! Is that sacrilege in the Sport 410 world? Maybe they could be replaced with a darker grey decal...

I'm expecting the drive to be very similar to the GT410 Sport... I was originally attracted to the Evora for its 2+2 nature and I wistfully thought I could put my two young daughters in the back. But I've since realised (after they complained about being in my Mercedes C63 estate) that they'd actually hate being in the rear as it's very claustrophobic, loud, and bumpy.... So the 2+0 isn't an issue any more 😆

I'm in the process of getting more details from Castle Motors and was wondering if there was anything specific I should be asking them? On my list so far:

  1. Service history (dates, mileage, dealer). It's a Dec 2016 car, so it's 8 years old in Dec, so that means it's due the big 4 yr service in Dec if I'm right?
  2. Condition of brake dics and pads - have they ever been changed?
  3. Tyres - make, and tread depth remaining.

I'll ask them for a walkaround focused on any imperfections (chips, scuffs, scrapes) to the bodywork, interior (especially driver seat bolser), and alloy wheels.

I'd also welcome views on the sparco seats? Does this make the car less desirable compared to the carbon buckets? It says it has a 'Sound Insulation Pack' - I assume that's just extra sound deadening under the carpets? Along with the ICE, A/C and sparco seats, it seems to be specced more as a useable road companion rather than with a track focus. Not a bad thing in my eyes.

And @100th_Idiot, I'm not sure if you're still frequenting these forums mate, but I'd love to hear about your ownership experience so I have a clearer picture of the provenance?

Thanks everyone 🤠

The door cards aren’t normal Sport ones - shouldn’t have pockets.
Does at least give you somewhere to store stuff though..

But, worth asking why they’ve been changed.

'....it makes every other roadster look just a little bit cissy...'

Strange that it wasn’t serviced for over 2 1/2 years. That’s not a full Lotus Service History! That’s penny pinching. As for the big 4 yearly C service, don’t ask, I’m still recovering from the £1200 bill I got yesterday!

Crikey - £710 road tax! 😲

I know! I was shocked! The auto box knocks it in to the highest CO2 tax band... 😭

Thanks, that's a good spot about the door cards - I'll ask them 👍

Agreed the service gap isn't ideal... but as it was with the same owner, it was during covid, and only 4k miles were covered, I'm willing to let it go. The seller has agreed to do the 4 year service so I'm happy with that 😅

The Lotus decals are from the factory are all pretty tired now as they have been sitting on the shelf for a long time now, as I found out when I ordered 2 sets, there were pretty crap. However I used them as a template to get sets made in pretty much any colour if thst helps you I can put you intouch with the supplier.

It looks to me like the seats and door card have been changed, stitching is white and it's yellow on dash and heated seats buttons are still blanked off. However the wiring is under seat and behind dash if you want to add the buttons.

Motorsport green is a stunning colour and I love the yellow decals

Thanks Lee. I think I will be asking you for the details of the supplier of the decals... I'm asking the dealer to remove the yellow ones before I collect it! 🫣 The yellow is very marmite and it's not for me sadly. I may try a colour similar to your grey ones after I've lived with it for a while. Incidentally, I do love the colour of your alloys! Is that an OEM paint colour? I'm not the biggest fan of black alloys and think the Motorsport green will look great with alloys the same colour as yours.

Good spot with the seat and missing heating controls - I do wonder what the story is behind it. @100th_Idiot used to own the car and he probably has all the info, but I think he's no longer checking these forums.

@Logit welcome to the club.  I am pretty sure that you have a British Racing Green coloured 410 as the only other one is mine.  Like you, I am not a fan of the stripes.  Mine were light grey and just didn’t suit the car so I removed them. I also didn’t like the silver wheels.  Before and after photos attached.

Ref the Sparco seats I think they make it easier to live with (and sell) but as @C8RKH says it’s a personal choice.  For me, the carbon buckets were one of the reasons to buy the car though I have had the reclined seat brackets fitted to the drivers side.  This also makes it easier to thread bags into the back.  Hope you enjoy the new purchase.

@Logit worth checking which tyres are fitted.  The 4S are great all rounders but you definitely notice more steering feel with Cup 2s fitted - and also a slightly firmer ride

Quick check of Deroure and the only coloured decals available are Matt Black and Grey which would maybe say Yellow has been retrofitted.

@Gadzooksyour colour combo looks stunning.

@Logit yes my wheels are std colour and like you not a major fan of black so they will always be silver.

@Logit I checked the certificate of provenance for mine and it is no. 3 in the production run of 20 cars and the last car in racing green.  Which means your car was either the first or second car produced.
