The number on the subframe (which you may be confusing with a chassis) is not the chassis number. This is on the plate rivited to the body.

"yes - I've changed the chassis for a 2nd hand galvanised one which has a chassis number stamped at the front off side just rear of the front suspension mounting point. I'm not sure what is actually original on this car now - even the wheels show signs of being bought later."

It only has the front passenger seat , the base of it is not good.

Sorry when I said base I ment cushion not metal frame. Which do you mean. Haven’t checked metal frame yet.

Yes - I meant cushion as well.  My frames need painting but are solid.

Hi Rob - foam is OK, it's the leather that's poor.  The passenger side seat isn't too bad and the driver's side back is reasonable, but the driver's side "squab" is quite worn.  It will eventually need recovering but I can't afford that yet!  If I could find a good base - squab - I would have a serviceable set.

More stripping today on the spare Elite. 

Just a small section of body to be removed, then back on to MPC92P.

Hi does anyone know why these have burrs on them. Plates between carbs and inlet manifold.

Finally cut away most of the body on the spare Elite that I only needed for the dash etc.  

Found the engine block and cylinder head numbers match.

Chassis just a few odds and ends to strip.

Hi , yes I think I will because the one on mine that I’m working on has been powder coated and will last longer than I will. Soon need to replace it.

New bearings fitted to timing belt tensioner.

Timing belt replaced along with new bearings in tensioner. Carbs back after being overhauled.  Been slow progress lately.  But on it now.
