They should practice what they preach, no doubt some one will come along and defend his actions. Double standards as always.

In my opinion the vast majority of politicians are in it for themselves. Many of them have already failed at proper jobs, or just see it as an easy route to riches direct from public school and university. They’re certainly no “better” than the rest of us. Here in the UK, the Labour Party was seen as the left wing Party and did indeed consist of mainly ideological Socialists up until the end of the Thatcher era. The problem was that not enough of the population agreed with them, so they became unelectable. The likes of Tony Blair and his middle class cronies recognised this in the 1990s so joined the Labour Party as professional politicians. It didn’t take them long to drag the Party to the right under the New Labour moniker and so win votes for the first time from disillusioned Conservative voters, as well as their existing left wing support. Since then very little has changed. It’s naive to think that you can vote out an MP who has failed his constituents and all will be good, because nowadays the person that gets voted into their seat will be cut from the same cloth, irrespective of Party.

absolutely right. We see the same things happening in many countries.

So ultimately, we are in it for ourselves, no one to trust in this respect, and therefore many may sooner or later realise, that they have to take care of themselves, not depending on someone else to carry them through life. The young generation where I live, seems to be divided in two: one being absolutely workaholics and breaking down mentally, when they cannot live up to their own standards, and the other being a group of eternal receiver, who openly proclaims that they don't see any meaning in getting an education, have a job and get up in the morning, because they just want to be glued to their sofa, watching tv. I think we, the older generation missed doing something here along the line.

Kind regards,

jacques

It was a couple of tries to understand why so many people are not acting according to present rules, hence many others getting upset about it ;)

So, now back to castor adjustment on the Esprit. Over and out.

Kind regards,

Jacques

Wow where did that come from on a Corona virus thread

I get where @Jacques is coming from and think it sums up the attitude of people - some just get on with it, some do nothing, some just assume that everything is every one elses fault and they are just the victims of an uncaring society for which they contribute zero to.

It's just a shame that if COVID19 was a form of chemical warfare constructed in a lab it wasn't better refined to just attack scumbags!

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

First time I have heard the term Covidiot. Very apt for this person but could think very easily of a few more terms to use!

To be honest, don't worry about looking bad. How would you feel if someone ended up in ICU, or worse, as a result of you not acting?  Understand it is a really hard decision but THEY are the ones who are being incredibly selfish.

I'm not condoning his actions, but we have no idea of his situation, what's going on in his head etc, so yes he needs to be treated. I'm sure they will be asking pertinent questions as to why he is there etc.

yes, despite stupidity, lack of common sense, hard to kill habits and what not, a hard upbringing, a neighbour who bullied him many years ago or a teacher who took his iphone away from him in the middle of a math-class, everyone have the right to help. Always. At least in our part of the world. As a cpntroverse, some around my waters have been debating the pay per view on medical help. I can't really say I agree, I just feel my own ego inflating, when I see another human being trying to kill him self as in the picture (if that's what it really shows). So, after a few moments of thinking along the lines of "why on earth should my taxmoney go to that?", I sober up and just feel sad for him... I sometimes feel so sad for all of those who grew up having so many possibilities, and don't use them propperly, and so sad fo ral those who don't even have clean water, food, clothes or maybe a mum and dad. Puts things in perspective, I think. In the end, I think all of us do mistakes. But is it worth risking dying for?

No.

Best wishes,

Jacques
