Early history of MPC92P

Having owned the Elite for 18 months, bought as a rolling shell, I new it’s first owner was Mr. John Allen a man who has more letters after his name than in the alphabet.  
Today while looking for my prescription sunglasses, which I’ve had for around two months and as the weather has been wet or wet haven’t needed them. Well I started looking in places that no way they should be there, like in the microwave or jackets for extreme wet weather, I decided to look in a box which came with the elite containing Club Lotus magazines. After removing all the magazines the base of the box seemed rather think, turns out it was a clear wallet folder, in side was the early history of MPC92P and an account of a 1978 road trip by Mr.Allen across Europe. 
Don’t think I could say my car has never raced or rallied.

Great stuff!  120mph for hours on end on the autobahn must have been a good test of the car's reliability and it sailed through it.

This is utterly brilliant - and illustrates the vision Chapman had for the wedge generation. Pace, grace, space with high MPG and (relatively) low emissions. 

When will Governments learn, they need to tax cars on weight to encourage manufacturers to lose bulk and therefore reduce the carbon impact from source to showroom to scrap and local pollution (large brakes and tyres cause excessive dust in the atmosphere).
