I added some 007 and bullethole stickers to make it look cool.

cool car for a youngster...The procurator of the company where I started working had a VW Golf MK II - he gave me some envious glances from time to time :)

Avenger, identical to this, except I fitted 2 Lucas spot lights to the front.

First car I drove was an MGB Roadster on Tangmere Airfield when I was about 15. Drove it at 90mph with 4 people on board (2 sitting on the boot lid!). Was Kangarooing around every where.

My first car was a "Deep Mango Metalic" (bronze by any other name!( Talbot Horizon 1.3 GLX with Beige/cream check valour interior.

I had a friend who was over 21 at the time who had lost his licence for reckless driving (always the best friends to have)and we found a loop-hole in the law!

Learner drivers had to be accompanied by a responsible 21+year old who had passed his driving test, however that "responsible" 21 year did not necessarily have to hold a current licence! So i was the driver! It worked too, pulled over loads of times and not a problem once.

I did seize the engine of HEX591V before i had passed my test though!! Ahhh Happy days.

REHABS FOR QUITTERS!!

My first car was a 1981 Matra Murena (black color) ; had quite the same concept as en Esprit (mid engined, shape, etc), but Esprit wasn't affordable at that time.

Hans, thats on my list of cars to own 'one day' - I'm just so taken with the idea of a 3-seater :)

Tony, to quote the good Jeff Foxworthy, "you might be a redneck, if you own or have ever owned a Trans Am" :)

My first car, sought out, paid for and completely owned by me was a 1973 Mk 1 Ford Capri 3000GXL.

Ford Zephyr, 2L V4 bench seats in the front and column gear change, handy for courting....

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

Mine was a 1984 Nissan 300zx. It had been driven hard and put away wet by the previous owner. The car began to split in half within 3 weeks of my purchasing it, so it got a new floor. Then the engine burned oil.... the transmission sychromesh was shot in second gear and the clutch was shot as well.... Oh yeah... the rear brake calipers siezed on and burned out.... Terrible car... You'd think I would have learned my lesson from that one... but no, I decided to buy a 1978 Porsche 924 next... I won't even begin to tell you the woes from that bad boy.

Modifying esprit's.. now that's fun..

First car was a Fiat X1/9. A real live POS. By I loved that nobody knew what it was and at 7K rpm it made great noise. It would not get out of sight in day though. Next '2 T/A......K.I.T..

Hey, haven't we done this before? Dejavu. Did somebody just say that?

Cheers,

Clay

My first car was an Alfa Romeo (Alfasud) Sprint QV 105 limited "Grand Prix" edition. Beautiful car, marvelous engine, capable of doing high speeds with superb handling. It was much better made than older models. Still missing it...
