Oil Gallery plug

Hello All,

First post here and its a rather embarrassing one!

I stripped my engine down about 4 years ago due to a head gasket failure and Nikasil coating failure. Due to various unforeseen circumstances and a house move I am finally back to assembling the engine. I have what I believe to be an oil gallery plug/set screw that I can't for the life of me work out where it goes, I'm sure its staring me in the face? There are two in the cylinder head but the third one has me stumped.

Would much appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction.

Hope you haven't fitted the head!  There are three in the head - all the same size - 1/8" BSPT.

Oh dear, yes I have! I don't recall seeing a threaded hole in the face of the cylinder head, I'm assuming by your reply that is where it would be.

That's the one.  Can you get it in and tightened with a cut-down hex key?  What are you using as thread sealant?

I was able to get it installed, being on the engine stand still sure made it easier. I've always had good luck with common or garden blue loctite so that's what I used.
