Head lights start on high beam

What am I doing wrong? The headlights only come on only on as high beam.  I normally press the red one first and then the green one. From yesterday this comes on as main beam. The indicator stalk is in the correct position. 🤔

There's not really a position for the stalk, it's click on, click off and returns to the same position each time.

That happens in a lot of cars. At least you realized it was on high beam and looked for a solution!
I had a customer (learner driver) come in once asking me to check her lights as people were always flashing. She had no clue when I asked if it was on high beam. Of course it was. Apparently that's not something that needs to be thought when taking lessons...
