Sorry I just couldn't get "into" that one, and couldn't wait for the lights to go up at the end! A couple of good laughs and that was it!

Only noticed today Charlton Heston died 8 weeks ago. One of the biggest Film actors of the 60's and 70's. For me Ben Hur and Planet of the Apes were two of the Big films from my childhood memories.

Can't remember reading he'd died or anything in the news at all.

I won't say I'd met him, but I remember him sitting in the seats behind us on a plane ride to Italy when I was a kid (I didn't know who he was at the time - too young and Dad explaning to me who he was)

I had not realised either, will always remember a question about him in a SF film quiz...

Q _ In what film did Charlton Heston say "Oh my God"?

A_ All of them!

OH...Charlton Heston...I remember him not only from the film "Ben Hur" but also from the documentary movie about gun problems in America. Because of this movie, I learn that he was the President of the National Rifle Association.

Like ET I just have no interest in seeing SLumdog.

I have, however, seen Gran Torino and Return to Witch Mountain recently. Gran Torino is just AWESOME! and I took the kids to see Witch mountain which is a rip roaring crackingly enjoyable kids/parents movie from Disney.

Both brilliant movies! Next I'm being dragged kicking and screaming to see 17 (ARG! ) and then it's Star Trek....can't wait for that one!
