Cam Covers redone

My gaskets have arrived (thanks Bibs), so hopefully I can do something his weekend.

Two questions though.

What should the cam cover bolts be torqued to?

Should I use anything to coat the gaskets to help stop the leaks a fair number of us seem to suffer from?

3 - 4 lbf/ft for the torque setting.

The gaskets are meant to be applied dry but I myself have wondered about whether a dressing such as Permatex High Tack Spray-a-Gasket Sealant might be a good idea.

I do the opposite, a smear of oil on the mating flanges means they don't stick next time...

This is on the list of jobs to do this winter, along with a good engine de-grease. Where is the best place to get the VHT red wrinkle paint from in the UK?

Oh any any tips on getting the filling plug out of the chargecooler would be much appreciated.

Frost but check/test the colours you will need to repaint all the parts to match up.

Cheers Cliff. The plan is to take everything off so matching wont be a problem.
