To polish or not to polish.........

Not a technical question. More an aesthetics question.

A fair while back, I painted some heat resistant satin black paint on the muffler of my car as it was not silver (it's stainless) and it wasn't one colour. From the back, it looked pretty ordinary. No prep so won't be super difficult to remove.

The black sort of merged it in with the rear trim on the S4 and hid it.

However, tomorrow I am going to get under the car and adjust my gearchange as it is a bit out of adjustment. Instead of going through the boot floor, I am thinking about dropping the exhaust off at the cat and polishing it up at the same time.

With all the cars these days that run around with those enormous silver exhaust can ends, will this look a bit sad on the Esprit or as the muffler hides beneath the car and crosses the entire rear, not look too bad in there under the bumper?

Anyone else done it or have pictures?

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Sounds like you should remove the head rest to facilitate wearing the cap backwards.

Polished the rear box on my S3 - a black car. Looks great IMHO. Car looks cared for and even more 'special'

I've had the super shiny Sj Sports system on for 10 years now. Still as shiny as ever. No buffing needed. ;-)
